  3. Happy that Strahovski's back, but worried and not really thrilled about this protege arc.

  4. Awesome
"So what do you do on your weekends and nights off?" "I hunt and kill killers"
"You have a boat? Cool. What do you use it for?" "Drop body parts into the ocean"
"Just like old times" it's exactly what popped up in my mind, when I saw Dex making dinner and Deb serving the beer. "With pineapple" "Not on my half" That is so awesome! Like real siblings. Almost like nothing happened. I just love them together!!!
Teaching Zack? Bad idea. Didn't he learn anything from Miguel? Or Trinity? Or Hannah? Anytime he gets involved with another killer, it ends up bad.
And hallo Hanna. She broke every record. She didn't even turn up yet and she already drugged Deb and Dex.

  5. Deb's boss is becoming my favorite guest character this season. He seems to add a "normal" balance to Deb's life (it's all relative!). I hope he doesn't end up dead, or turn out to be another nutcase.

  6. i just hoped that with Dexter letting the kid live, the same situation doesn't try to happen like Landon Boulevard movie.

Assuming Showtime isn't making a Zack Hamilton spin-off then he's going to get Dexter arrested.

  10. Honestly, this whole season is really worrying me. They have 6 episodes to get their heads out. The writing is so poor in some scenes it's embarrassing. I have loved this show since the beginning but any scene not involving Dexter, Deb, or some villain of the year has had awful writing.
I do like that Hannah is back but I really hope they don't mess up the Zach story.

  11. Well I'm worried about that any way, given they've already gone the protege way before with Lumen and Prado and they only really new spin they could put on it would be if Zack killed Dexter in the end, which would be so lame.

  12. I was prepared to say that it wasn't as good as last week's, but damn, that ending with Hannah killed me. I had totally forget that she was coming back, they caught me totally of guard. Also, amazing tension with Quin there, even if I have to say that it is not in-character for Quinn to be 100% out of suspicions for Dexter when he catches him in a situation like this after everything that went down between them during season 5 - it is poor writing, they could avoid it. Still, it is a minor complaint, I like the Zach storyline pretty much.

  13. Cool that Hannah made an appearance at the end of the episode. Love Jacob Elway! Nice to see Deb and Dex get along. Poor Quinn (and what a close call). I like Zack Hamilton. Also like that Harrison caught Dexter in lie and the irony of the tie-back to Dex killing dogs!

Can't talk much about anything else without giving spoilers away, but I'm looking forward to Oliver Twist...

  14. I know what happens with Zack and I think you guys shouldn't worry about him.

  15. Jacob Elway is like a short younger version of Frank Lundy. I love when the show does stuff like that. I kind of hope, given who those two characters are based on in the novels, and given this season def has elements from book #5, that Deb ends the series pregnant.

  16. That's what I love about the writing is the schizoness of how characters react and feel in one season and then how they totally go against that in another, especially Deb and Quinn.

  17. I think it is not meant on purpose, I think we are somehow meant to forget Season 5's Quinn, or else it makes no sense IMO

  18. I forgot to mention the Harison and dog storyline, also liked it a lot.

  19. Disagree. It happens all the time. For instance Deb was REALLY upset when she was dating Gabriel and she thought he was righting a book about her and her relationship with the IceTruck Killer, as it was titled "Ice Princess"....last season Deb is a-ok with dating S. Prince, despite that he does publish books about killers, and despite she just found out hers is one! Not to mention that those themes are also woven through Vogal writing about Killiers and that Hannah and Dex get it on at that Christmas pace, where basically Hannah become "Ice Princess", as the Christmas themes also stem back through Brian and are woven through out the series...

  20. Wow, well put. Even though I still say that in some cases it is just poor writing and that you are too optimistic about it all being part of a great plan, you definitely have some points in there, well done

  21. Thank you :)

I thought of one other recant example. At the beginning of the season, working for Elway, Deb is undercover dating and succumbing to drugs (and Alcohol) while trying to locate the Jewelry of ANdrew BRIGGS. There's a great irony here because back at the end of season three into the beginning of season 4 Deb dates ANton BRIGGS, who is mostly drug free as a part of his deal as Quinn's C.I. (which Quinn doesn't go about right). Again, you would think that Andrew Briggs' name would remind her of Anton Briggs, but there is no mentioning of the character. (Dexter has a lot of alliteration)

  22. Either way i feel let down so far. 6 episodes of nothing but dialogue and the writers trying to make a villain seem entertaining. Nothing about the last couple season feel as good as the first 4/5 seasons of the show did. The writers just really disappoint me. The music isn't even the same as it used to be. It just doesn't feel like the same show.

  23. I'm sorry that it hasn't been as fun for you. I really love the way things have gone and the way it no longer focus' on one pristine antagonist, nor are all major focal characters full fledged antagonist. I like riding on characters who's agendas are unclear and to be able to use every character to explore a different angle of something.

I actually just noticed that they are using older music during "A Little Reflection" (although every season has some variation)...but Dexter isn't in the same place, which is probably why it doesn't feel like the same show. He has finally admitted to caring. And really since the end of season 6, Dexter has strayed from the code (which is why teaching Zack and coming across Vogal at this time is kind of ironic).

  24. The season has been a little meh so far, I like that they aproached quite realisticly how deb took the hit, but appart from that I think it will all depend on wether the finale is worth it or not.
