As if he never had her arrested or she never drugged him, they are practicly back where they were. I like it tho. I like Hannah, she'd be a MUCH better side kick than Zack
It's so good to see Dex and Deb working together. "I want her gone" I understand and agree. I'm also afraid that Harry war right. Now that Hannah is back it could destroy every progress Deb made. "Until you betrayed her. Turning her in to the police" Well Dexters answer should have been something like "She forgot to mention that she killed a man and almost killed my sister" Hannah was not happy. As Dexter said it, it's just a cover life. He is rich and powerful, has places all over the world, … The perfect person to give her a new identity and help her disappear if she needs to. But she didn't seem happy. What did she expect? Most rich man are controlling and possessive with their beautiful wives. "I'd be sleeping with one eye open" Funny and true, but useless. If she wants to poison him, she can do it anytime. I too think it was Zack. He has to be put down. He's uncontrollable and he knows too much.
It's odd, I said after last weeks promo "she got married one of them is gonna have to kill him" and it happens almost right away but I don't see Hannah and Dexter living happily ever after...
Glad to have Hannah back, curious to see where their story will end. Hope we don't end the season with another Dex vs. Deb situation, I like that they've been rebuilding their relationship.
And damn it, there goes my Cassie is the Brain Surgeon theory. Sad to see a nice, normal girl get killed off. Let's hope next week is Zack's final episode.
I am so gutted Cassie is Dead. She was absolutely USELESS For the Few episodes she played in. I mean seriously, why put a woman that hot on the show and not have Dexter Fuck her ? She was useless, and now got killed by that little prick Zach. He needs to go. Dexter needs to kill him so the Writers can save the few episodes they have left with a new story to save the season which is not going great ...
I feel like someone forgot to tell the writers that this is the last season.
I've been pretty forgiving of the decline in quality over the past couple seasons but this is just unacceptable. There's so many exciting things they could have done and it feels like they keep wasting time retracing their steps from old seasons. Dexter is really questioning if he can mentor someone or if two killers can coexist? For the...fifth time?
If this was anything but the final season this episode would have been fine but it just feels like a waste of an episode at this point.
I was a bit skeptic to see Hannah returns but i was pleasantly surprised, especially because she did seem genuinly scared of her husband, who knew any man could scare her? I have a new theory, I saw that picture of the series finale and dexter seems to be on a boat, carrying Deb in a white sheet or something. What if Deb goes to the yacht to confront Hanna and get rid of her, they fight, and either Deb kills her and ends up being wounded and dexter arrives to save her or dexter arrives in the middle of the fight and kills hanna to save deb(who's still wounded).
"Kinda" fair. But he's mentoring a kid while his new "Mom" figure is in the pictures. Hanna is as complicated as it gets. The episode seemed pretty realistic to me.
I don't think Zach killed his neighbor. Her date seems like a somewhat obvious default choice especially with some possible foreshadowing. Could be wrong but after watching next week's preview, sure seems like I could be right ;).
Might be. But Zacks first victim (sorry I forgot her name) had the same injuries, the same cause of death. And Zack was there. He saw her, they talked (I mean the neighbor). I could be wrong, but to me he is the no.1 suspect.
An interview with the actor of Saxon implies that he will not be the last opponent of Dex and Deb in the last episode. Bad for Hannah and good for everyone who really loves this series since 7 years.
Well again I can't say too much without giving major spoilers away, but I have to say Vogal's worries about the tale of two psychopaths will be pretty amusing by episode 10. In fact I think all the advice people gave about Hannah will be things that should have pertained to other characters, rather than her.
I feel pretty confident that Hannah is being genuine here. I don't know if she'll change her mind again before the end of the series, but after that little Harrison getting all excited about hearing her name scene, I def see more potential for a 'Hannah raising Harrison on the run' ending.
And speaking of getting all excited, I loved Zack in this episode. He's one of the first younger characters who I don't find at all annoying and/or who really has a brightness to him.
Nice tie backs to M. Prado with the boat murder, Isaac Sirko with the brotherhood-body guards, Lila with the tracking devise and jealousy, Trinity with the bludgeoning, and possibly Brian with the bludgeoning for reasons I can't say.
Loved how quickly Quinn changed his mind about moving into Jamie's! ;)
And poor Vince. I think it would be so nice for Nikki to work at Miami Metro, but I wonder if it's going to work out, or if it will take a murder at the sports bar for her to really consider? -I'll be bummed if she gets killed before the series ends. She's pretty likable and It would be nice for something to work out for Vince.
Thinking about the weather rumor, I think maybe that could be how the truth about the Bay Harbor Butcher might resurface!!!
And, Yes Deb, please actually think about the consequences of your actions and how they might effect others!
Love that Elway called Deb on her stuff, but something tells me he will want to impress Deb and perhaps pursue Hannah McKay himself...
It's getting so hard, isn't it! XD I just want to scream the character's names (equivalent to writing in large bold print), because it's such a good double twist!!!
It was an Amazing episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was really excited to see why Hannah was back and to know now why is kinda relief because i really didn't expect and want Hannah to be back for Revenge. I don't know if Dexter and Hannah can live happily ever after but i don't think it needs anymore proving that Hannah is Dexter's epic love. As it happened in the episode he has to protect himself and Debra from Hannah but instead he wants to make sure if Hannah is alright. I think that sums up it. I also loved the green house scene between them, you feel kinda hurt for Hannah. Despite what some people might say i love Hannah and Dexter together. They love each other and understand each other on a whole different level. It just proves itself again and again. Yvonne and Micheal have this crazy Chemistry and i think that's what makes Hannah and Dexter so amazing. No one else could have done a better job then Yvonne playing Hannah. I think there's a reason why the writers have brought Hannah back no that e know it's not revenge and the fact that they have saved her for the second half of the season. I didn't believe if Hannah was telling the truth about her husband but then you saw it and you couldn't doubt her anymore. Didn't expect at all that she would kill her husband i was expecting Dexter to do it. And i don't think she and Dexter are going to get away with it so easily. He was a man with connections, i'm sure in the next couple of episodes they'll have to deal with it. Also i feel like Dexter is in all sorts of trouble, he's hanging out with a wanted fugitive and then he helped Hannah cover the death of a well known man and then he has Zach to worry about...And i'm guessing the coming episodes will bring more trouble for Dex. He's not going to have it easy with Hannah. I don't want to hate Debra i really don't but she's become this whiny person who loves to pity herself and blame others for her screw ups. Blame Dexter that she killed Laguerta, blame Hannah that her life is what it is...i mean i don't understand her at all. If she had paid so much attention to her on life than she's on Dexter's she would have been happily married with Quinn now. Every season i expect her to be mature and act like an adult but i'm left disappointed every time. I honestly thought Zach killed Cassie but reading some of the comments and having seen some of the pictures of the coming episodes i have kinda come to believe that it wasn't indeed Zach. But then i can't quite figure who else would it be. The boy friend maybe?? I also think they need to be done with Dr.Vogel, she came she did her part now i think there's no need for her and she needs to be gone. And for the first time i'm actually liking Masuka's story. This season up to this episode has been kinda dull if you ask me but looks like it's about to change.
SpoilerTV was able to get ahold of the series finale report and photos. Hannah McKay is in at least one of them. So she makes it till the end of series, which is another reason why I believe she may be the spin off lead in.
If the weather rumor is right, then it's possible that things from Bay Harbor Butcher may resurface --It's the one thing we didn't really get any spoilers for...is the Miami Metro side of it...
It could be episode 11. The spoilers from the final episodes seem to place something important there, but it's possible that it is an assumption and the placement of certain events could be in and/or around episode 10!! It's also possible the reveal could come earlier than the event...which could be as soon as episode 9!
Everytime I finish a Dexter episode now I feel sad because I enjoy them so much and I have been with it for so long, it is painful to think it is ending. It was yet another brilliant episode. I don't consider myself a "shipper" usually nor do I think Dexter is a show where we are supposed to actively ship, but damn, there is something about Dexter and Hannah's relationship that I can't help but feel drawn to. Vogel was probably right though that two psychopaths should not be together like that but maybe that's where the drawn comes from. I loved Hannah's return and I loved Dexter teaching Zach - I didn't think they would go there with him killing someone close to Dexter until the scene with him at Dexter's apartment running into Casie. I am very interested in seeing how Dexter will deal with it.
I find myself way more drawn to their relationship too, now having watched season 7 twice!! I also think Dexter's judgement about Hannah to Vogal is accurate. Hannah is not a [typical] sociopath. She feels. I just think Deb still doesn't like the thought of Dexter with someone he can get so personal with, but I'm hoping that will change in the next couple of episodes.
I also loved Dexter teaching Zack. They picked such a charming young actor. I'm looking forward to these next 3 episodes in particular! :)
Might be. But Zacks first victim (sorry I forgot her name) had the same injuries, the same cause of death. And Zack was there. He saw her, they talked (I mean the neighbor). I could be wrong, but to me he is the no.1 suspect.
great episode! the only criticism i have is that you killed off Julian Sands too quickly. i absolutely LOVE him and was so excited when i heard he'd be on the show. Whenever i see him, all is see is Warlock...lol
I liked Rita but it wasn't something like this. I also believe that Dexter is not the kinda show where there's this Epic love story and you ship two people and stuff. But with Hannah i can't but to feel drawn to their relationship. There's just something about them...
I have always said that Hannah is not a psychopath, she is not like Dexter she doesn't take pleasure in killing. It's just something she has to do to protect herself. Like she said to Dexter last episode "Unlike you i don't enjoy this" something like that. And you're very much right about Debra. I just wish she would grow up for once and move on and leave Dexter be. HA i couldn't help but smile when Harrison got all excited hearing Hannah's name.
I agree with the both of you and with Dexter in the sense that she definitely feels. I still want to find out whether or not she truly poisoned Deb last season (don't spoil me please in case you know), as that would be somehow revealing about her character and her feelings for Dex.
Oh for sure! I also liked Rita, but nothing like this. Her relationship with Dexter was as good of a cover life as a cover life gets which is up to the point in which real feelings start blending in, as shown in Dexter's final realization in 5x01. Nevertheless, it was still a cover, albeit a somehow real cover if that even makes sense. Hannah is something else.
We don't know that for sure. It's possible that she still has alternative motives and/or she changes her mind before the end of series, but given what was said in this episode about Hannah's reasoning about changing her mind in relation to Dexter's help, there could be a plot that unfolds relating to these bodyguards and the family of Miles..I could see them be the straw that breaks the camel's back on top of the other stuff. (It could also help pave the way to a Hannah related spin-off)
But there are so many things on the table right now. Even the interview with the other main antagonist also stated that he or she doesn't know exactly how it ends. So I don't think it's fair to blame miss sentimental, until we cross that bridge. Something tells me Dexter's finale will be complicated in terms of the final events and not a cut and dry blame game.
Your hatred of Hannah is becoming weirder and weirder. I just don't get it, why? There are so many moments that show she's not evil and just make me more sympathetic to her character.
Hmm i didn't think about it until now. I mean i couldn't believe that knowing how important Debra was to Dexter, Hannah would still go on and try to kill her. BUt could...just could be that she only half poisoned her. Coming to the last episode has Dexter forgiven Hannah that she tried to kill his sister? It sure looks like it.
Agreed. I think the writers need to watch a show like Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad to learn how to write a proper script. What the hell has happened to them?
She murdered a number of people for selfish gain and possibly for sport, in addition to poisoning Deb. So even if she does have some redeeming qualities, I don't see anything weird about a viewer disliking or mistrusting her. I think the jury's still out on whether or not Dexter can trust her, especially since she's a lot less predictable than Dexter. The fact that she was clearly terrified by her husband was the first time that I thought that she might truly be genuine about her feelings, so maybe there is hope for her and Dexter. Also, I think that part of the Hannah's appeal with viewers is that she's very attractive, which is fine, IMO...But for those viewers who aren't swayed by her looks, then I think it's understandable that they'd evaluate her actions more harshly.
For gain not sport. I didn't say she was innocent, I just said I sympathize with her, not because I find her attractive btw, but because I feel bad for her over her past. But come on Debsterforever's comments about her being evil and planning on betraying Dexter are a little much, given we've seen her kindness, humanity and love for Dexter. Not to mention the lack of evidence for betrayal so far.
Geez, there's nothing wrong with favoring a fictional character because you find them attractive, but I guess you're a better person than most of us. Plus...isn't that how her character ended up getting the upper hand on a number of men, including Dexter? Their judgment was swayed by physical attraction?
Hannah is not just my problem. 90% of the core audience at DD do not like Hannah. It's because there are people who love this show since 7 years as their favorite show and not people who just watch out for hot actresses and don't care if the characters they play are evil characters.
I like YS and she's a beauty. But I love and know this show since 7 years and I won't fall for Hannah's treacherous game even like I did not fall for it in season 7. And there are enough silver linings which implie even like in season 7 that there will finaly be a compensation for the core audience of Dexter.
The core audience at DD would be frightened if they would read such misinterpretations. I look forward to episode 12 when Dexter will finaly find out that he behaved like being mentally handicapped and not like someone who is in love. At the end of season 7 Dexter sent the poison beast to jail. At the end of season 8 he will send her to hell.
Some comments here show that here are more people who are not watching Dexter since 7 years as their favorite show. (in contrast to DD where nobody would say that this was one of the best episodes of season 8)
God, I hope not. Don't get me wrong, I like Hannah. She's hot and a great character and Yvonne is making a wonderful job. But I think Hannah would be a poor choice for a spin off. What makes Dexter so likable is, that he justifies his killings with the fact that he kills only killers, which (besides the fact that he kills without any emotion) makes him a hero in my book. He is in his own way protecting innocent people. And here is, where Hannah is different. She kills only for her own benefit. It's been a while since I saw her in the last season, so please correct me, if I forgot something. She killed this guy in the facility she was in. That I understand, he was harassing the girls in his care. But what about her husband? She told Dex a touching story about him not wanting her having a child or something. I don't buy it. She could have left him. It's not the Middle Ages, she can have a child on her own. I think she did it either for money or maybe jealousy. Or the old lady she was working for. She killed her for the money and the house. Or the author. She killed him so he wouldn't publish a book outing her as a killer. And Dexter warned her not to do anything, telling her, that he would take care of it. What about Deb? She tried to kill her too. I think, killing is for Hannah just the easiest way to solve her problems and make sure she gets what she wants. Her latest late husband is another prove. She contacted him after escaping, cause she needed money and a new identity. Which I understand. She manipulated him into marriage. But she crewed up. He made sure, she would not only get nothing, but also getting arrested if he drops dead (don't ask me, why she told him everything. Maybe he knew it from the news?). That is why she returned and made contact with Dexter. She wanted him to kill her husband. She admitted it. She's not thinking about alternatives, like Dexter. She kills. And that is why I think a Hannah spin off wouldn't be a success. I still hope they'll make a Deb or Harry spin off.
Well it sure looks like she is your problem. Cuz we've been witnessing this since season 7 that she means no harm to Dexter and infact have made the show more interesting, yet all i have seen you doing is say how evil she is and blah blah blah... The definition of evil maybe different in your dictionary than most people. Well you seem to have maybe something that figures out that how many % of the viewers don't like a specific character. If you don't mind please tell me your secret cuz i really don't like some characters on some shows and i want to prove to those who like them that most people don't. Honestly you need to get a grip.
Dexter is not like most men. Cassie was physically attractive and Hot yet despite her being interested in him he didn't pay much attention to her. So i guess it's wrong to say people and Dexter like Hannah because Yvonne is Hot.
First I liked to say Hannah has a nurturing disposition, something she shares with Rita. If the writers would go this route their reason is the full circle-break into new cycle idea in relation to mothers loosing and now gaining children from horrible circumstances, while also having a killer raise a child parallels...
1. Scott Buck signed a 2 yr deal with Showtime for "The American Dream Machine. -MCH is an executive producer and if we follow their relationship in the past (Six feet under, Dexter) then most likely MCH will also be cast. So it seems likely that "Dexter" will not make it or be locked up.
2. JC: Unless she lied at comic con, she sounds like she wants out and doesn't want to think about Deb's future. So that doesn't seem likely either. At least not as a main character.
3. They have left Hannah for the tail-end of series in a season that features Motherhood via Vogal (which actually hasn't full played out yet). There's a rumor about the weather in an upcoming episode that also plays to "mothers" them.
4. The actress has the ability to carry the series and even this plot they concocted in this episode already prvides an opening, should Miles family/body guards also come into play at the very end of the series
I think all other characters don't have the 'killer' weight to pull the spin off. If Hannah has Harrision, it will also keep some viewers interested because they may be interested in his future and "If" he will end up a killer or in a killing family as a young adult --which is more like the Dexter novels, actually.
Well, if Hannah should be the main character in the spin off, her character (the person she is) has to change. The way she is now, not many would watch the show longer than a season. Although it might get interesting, that she follows no rules, like Dexter does. That is what makes Dexter so likable. You can't hate a killer who kills other killers. I agree that some might watch it if she take care for Harry. Which wonders me. Why should she? or better: how could she? Even if Dex dies or ends up in prison, Harry still has Deb. His aunt. Who would give a child into care to a stranger who is wanted by the police for murder? Even if Dex and Deb would both die or end up in prison, Harry still has his grandparents. Ritas parents took in Astor and Cody. Why not Harry? And Astor should be soon old enough for college. The only way Hannah would get Harry (all to herself) is, if she would kidnap him. … I shouldn't give them ideas!
Yes, I remember reading (on spoiler, weeks before the season started) that Jen said she would prefer to play in a comedy, cause this character (Deb) is too hard and heavy. And I commented, that it would be a fucking waste of her talent. In the last 3 years or so she became an amazing actress. I mean, comparing to S1. Thousands of actors would kill for a talent like hers and she's willing to throw it away?!? She has Oscar potential. But she's not gonna get the golden boy for a stupid sitcom.
Kirsten Dunst, for example. I fucking loved her when I first saw her in Interview. She should have an Oscar by now, cause she proved 15-20 years ago that she has an amazing talent (Little Women, Virgin suicides). And what happened? She started to play in family comedies and teen comedies (Dick, Get over it, Bring it on, Small Soldiers, …) and some action/fantasy movies (Spider-Man, Crow 3). Don't get me wrong some of them were great. But if an actor or actress has talent (and people know it cause they proved it) this kind of movies are a waste of time and talent, cause this kind of movies are never gonna get you an Oscar.
That is why Natalie Portman has one. She proved with her first (!!!) movie (Leon- fucking love this movie) that she has an amazing talent. And she used it on the right movies. The only comedy I remember seeing her in was Mars Attacks.
Sorry, I got carried away. But I think you get my point. Jen would waste her talent on comedy shows.
You watch Big Bang theory? My absolutely favorite comedy show. But none of the actors, even if they prove their talent, will be taken seriously. Jim Parsons (Sheldon) for example. To play this character he has to have great potential and talent. But he's never gonna get an Oscar for that part.
If Hannah raises Harrison, I don't think it will be kidnapping in the sense that she did it behind Dexter's back. I would imagine there could be scenes where characters get into precarious situations and Dexter may tell Hannah to take Harrison and run, as he might sacrifice himself to buy them time to escape or Hannah finds Dexter dead and Harrison hiding near buy. Granted Hannah will always be a wanted fugitive, but IMO I don't find Hannah ruthless. I agree with Dexter in that she has feelings, -and honestly believe that she kills kinder than all other killers on the show, even Dexter. (and let's not forget that Dexter himself isn't perfect and has strayed from the code).
Obviously, to some degree I'm getting ahead of myself, but I do see potential for it to end that way. I think there are enough people that either can accept Hannah and/or like YS for it to work...Harrison living with Aunt Deb could also work, I just don't know how serious JC was at comic con??
I can see being skeptical of Hannah, but you're clearly on the side of Deb to point of behaving like her. Deb's treatment of Hannah before Hannah decides to poison her is pretty unjustified. It's purely out of selfishness, spite, and the inability to be honest with herself about her feelings for her brother...
When I think about the characters in spectrum I would actually put Deb somewhere near Lila, because they both are extroverted-high-energy-absorbing, manipulative, psychotic, and often put people in uncompromising positions --sometimes inadvertently without realizing the consequences.
Obviously Lila is worse than Deb, because Deb does have some sense of justice and remorse, but I have to say that Deb's belief system changes almost every season and that makes her an unstable character with a lack of real identity, as denial and table turning is how she has survived for so long, as she sadly has gone through really traumatic events over and over.
I think the problem is, you believe Hannah is playing a game, when she might not be. I think it remains to be seen if revenge for Dexter is her overall motive.
Deb has been blind sited before by her jealousy of other women. Deb has been REALLY harsh on other women through out the series. That is why in S4 Christina Hill kills herself and then there was this case (season 3 maybe?) where she was convinced this girl was responsible for some crime and Deb treated her appallingly bad and it turned out the girl was innocent.
I would agree and really I'm on the side of Graydon here as well. For me, being a heterosexual female, my attraction to Hannah McKay is her story, her disposition, the way she is written in contrast to other characters (she comprises of 3 important women in Dexter's life a "trinity" of women if you will), and the way YS plays her.
It's not that I don't think YS is attractive. I have great admiration for her, but I like Hannah not because she's physically attractive, but because she's emotionally attractive and represents something really important to Dexter and/or the series. I find the role complex and compelling. Sure, being attractive can be a plus, but like you, I think it's clear that this isn't about "hotness", this is about fate and emotional connections with others.
I'm personally confused about the scene with Deb and Hannah at Hannah hearing, because it almost sounds like Deb poisoned herself the way Hannah says, "I know what you did." -But Debsterforever had told me it referred to Travis Marshall and the burning down of the church, but I think the words were vague and not specific, but considering the turn of events with Deb at the beginning of season, Deb might as well have poisoned herself! Perhaps one of the writers clarified it, but I never heard/read it officially stated.
It is my favorite show that is "currently" on TV. -But I think you'll find that no matter what I watch, I usually don't pick a totem character to like and rip apart the rest, especially when it's pretty obvious the writers took the time to write other characters in contrast to tell a controversial story in this case about ethics and justice in which there are rarely black and white circumstances. Dexter beautify shows us 'the many angles' of situations.
I don't know if you're referring to an upcoming antagonist interview as 'the latest spoilers', but that interview doesn't imply anything except that the person doesn't know what the final scene is. -It only implies that he or she may not make it to the final scene, but it tells us nothing about what it is and who it all involves. There is nothing there that suggest that Hannah McKay is final lynch pin or that she is solely responsible for whatever happens.
Well, it could work that Hannah runs with Harry and Dex buys them time. Everyone would be looking for Harry, but kids grow and change so fast, in 3 or 5 years no one would recognize him. Hey, maybe they'll move to Argentina. Isn't it what Hannah was dreaming about?
Deb and Harry would work perfectly for me.
I really hope Jen won't take roles in sitcoms. It would really be a waste of her talent.
Just... couldn't have said it any better!! I mean of course Yvonne/Hannah is an attractive lady but my/our attraction and likeness towards her isn't solely based on that, in fact like you said it's more an emotional attraction. Yvonne has played the character so tremendously. An actor can make or break a character no matter how Amazing it is.
Well i was like 99% sure Deb poisoned herself but then Hannah confessed she did it and i was like ' No way!' i think it would have been much more interesting had they gone that way. Debra was never really mature when it came to her personal life. I can give you that writer guy and Quinn...but since she's found out about Dexter, she's completely lost it. Part of her hates him for what he is, part of her loves him like a sister and a part of her is IN love with him. She's really confused as to what to be... She's trying to protect herself and Dexter, because she thinks Hannah is a danger to them. But i guess she and we all know Dexter have handled trinity and have dealt with dangerous people his whole life, and kills people for pleasure, seen things. So if he thinks that Hannah is not a danger but instead she's someone who he cares and loves deeply and who makes him happy then i think the sister part of Debra would stop and let her brother be happy. But then comes the " being in love " part and seeing Dexter being so emotionally attached and personal with Hannah makes her jealous and i think the blaming Hannah for her screwed up life, trying as hard as she can to get her out of Dexter's life is the result of not being able to see Dexter being so in love with this woman other than her (sure Dex loves her a lot but as a sibling) so the way things are going looks like it's not going to end well for Debra, I think it might just come down to Dexter vs Debra- ( it'd be the most amazing turn if they reveal Deb poisoned herself)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
BEST EPISODE OF THE SEASON
ReplyDeleteGreat episode, Hannah's return was awesome!
ReplyDeleteBye bye Zach
ReplyDeleteAs if he never had her arrested or she never drugged him, they are practicly back where they were. I like it tho. I like Hannah, she'd be a MUCH better side kick than Zack
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see Dex and Deb working together.
ReplyDelete"I want her gone" I understand and agree. I'm also afraid that Harry war right. Now that Hannah is back it could destroy every progress Deb made.
"Until you betrayed her. Turning her in to the police" Well Dexters answer should have been something like "She forgot to mention that she killed a man and almost killed my sister"
Hannah was not happy.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have Hannah back, curious to see where their story will end. Hope we don't end the season with another Dex vs. Deb situation, I like that they've been rebuilding their relationship.
ReplyDeleteAnd damn it, there goes my Cassie is the Brain Surgeon theory.
ReplyDeleteI hope,i don't give away too much here, but you're wrong in one suspicion.
ReplyDeleteI feel like someone forgot to tell the writers that this is the last season.
ReplyDeleteI've been pretty forgiving of the decline in quality over the past couple seasons but this is just unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteI have a new theory, I saw that picture of the series finale and dexter seems to be on a boat, carrying Deb in a white sheet or something.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Zach killed his neighbor. Her date seems like a somewhat obvious default choice especially with some possible foreshadowing. Could be wrong but after watching next week's preview, sure seems like I could be right ;).
ReplyDeleteYou are right. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhich? Tell me!!!!
ReplyDeleteMight be. But Zacks first victim (sorry I forgot her name) had the same injuries, the same cause of death. And Zack was there. He saw her, they talked (I mean the neighbor). I could be wrong, but to me he is the no.1 suspect.
ReplyDeleteAh,hehe. One moment please. I need to search it. :)
ReplyDeleteya,he's the obvious suspect and in dexter nothing is what it seems like..
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how long Hannah will be around? Is she staying til the finale or leaving earlier?
ReplyDeleteThat actually makes sense. But I still think there are too many things pointing at Zack.
ReplyDeleteAn interview with the actor of Saxon implies that he will not be the last opponent of Dex and Deb in the last episode. Bad for Hannah and good for everyone who really loves this series since 7 years.
ReplyDeleteWell again I can't say too much without giving major spoilers away, but I have to say Vogal's worries about the tale of two psychopaths will be pretty amusing by episode 10. In fact I think all the advice people gave about Hannah will be things that should have pertained to other characters, rather than her.
ReplyDeleteI feel pretty confident that Hannah is being genuine here.
Nice episode with lots of cards on the table!!
It's getting so hard, isn't it! XD I just want to scream the character's names (equivalent to writing in large bold print), because it's such a good double twist!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was an Amazing episode.
ReplyDeleteI didn't believe if Hannah was telling the truth about her husband but then you saw it and you couldn't doubt her anymore.
Yes.

ReplyDeleteNo you've got me all worried and excited for episode 10.
ReplyDeleteWant A Clue about if Zack Murdered Cassie or not? ;)
ReplyDeleteIt could be episode 11. The spoilers from the final episodes seem to place something important there, but it's possible that it is an assumption and the placement of certain events could be in and/or around episode 10!! It's also possible the reveal could come earlier than the event...which could be as soon as episode 9!
ReplyDeleteEverytime I finish a Dexter episode now I feel sad because I enjoy them so much and I have been with it for so long, it is painful to think it is ending.
ReplyDeleteIndeed it was. Hannah IS awesome!
ReplyDeleteI find myself way more drawn to their relationship too, now having watched season 7 twice!! I also think Dexter's judgement about Hannah to Vogal is accurate. Hannah is not a [typical] sociopath. She feels. I just think Deb still doesn't like the thought of Dexter with someone he can get so personal with, but I'm hoping that will change in the next couple of episodes.
ReplyDeleteI also loved Dexter teaching Zack. They picked such a charming young actor. I'm looking forward to these next 3 episodes in particular! :)
It is! Hehe, I know what you mean! XD
ReplyDeleteXD So you would like to spill the beans too......hehe.
ReplyDeleteBeans are just SO easy to spill! XD
ReplyDelete...i could use some Beans about the True Blood finale,too.. XD
ReplyDeleteMight be. But Zacks first victim (sorry I forgot her name) had the same injuries, the same cause of death. And Zack was there. He saw her, they talked (I mean the neighbor). I could be wrong, but to me he is the no.1 suspect.
ReplyDeletegreat episode! the only criticism i have is that you killed off Julian Sands too quickly. i absolutely LOVE him and was so excited when i heard he'd be on the show. Whenever i see him, all is see is Warlock...lol
ReplyDeleteIt's naive to not notice that Hannah IS back for revenge when she looked at her plants. But the pure evil will just be rerealed in the last episode.
ReplyDeleteCan we please kill Zack already ? I can't stand him ... Foster's death a bit too quick maybe, it could have been interesting to see more of him
ReplyDeleteMore afraid than excited.
ReplyDeleteIf he has then we sure will get a CLUE in the coming episodes.
ReplyDeleteI liked Rita but it wasn't something like this. I also believe that Dexter is not the kinda show where there's this Epic love story and you ship two people and stuff. But with Hannah i can't but to feel drawn to their relationship. There's just something about them...
ReplyDeleteI have always said that Hannah is not a psychopath, she is not like Dexter she doesn't take pleasure in killing. It's just something she has to do to protect herself. Like she said to Dexter last episode "Unlike you i don't enjoy this" something like that.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're very much right about Debra. I just wish she would grow up for once and move on and leave Dexter be.
HA i couldn't help but smile when Harrison got all excited hearing Hannah's name.
Seriously man what's your problem? You always sound so bitter about Hannah. Did she offend your personally or something?
ReplyDeleteI agree with the both of you and with Dexter in the sense that she definitely feels. I still want to find out whether or not she truly poisoned Deb last season (don't spoil me please in case you know), as that would be somehow revealing about her character and her feelings for Dex.
ReplyDeleteOh for sure!
ReplyDeleteWait and see. ;)
ReplyDeleteShe's not useless. She's a stepping stone to turn over a plot. Zack might not make it, but not for the reasons you think.
ReplyDeleteWe don't know that for sure. (It could also help pave the way to a Hannah related spin-off)
ReplyDeleteBut there are so many things on the table right now.
ReplyDeleteHmm i didn't think about it until now. I mean i couldn't believe that knowing how important Debra was to Dexter, Hannah would still go on and try to kill her. BUt could...just could be that she only half poisoned her.
ReplyDeleteComing to the last episode has Dexter forgiven Hannah that she tried to kill his sister? It sure looks like it.
And for a person like Dexter who never feels much human emotion, to actually say that he's in love. Well that's just what that's something is.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I think the writers need to watch a show like Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad to learn how to write a proper script. What the hell has happened to them?
ReplyDeleteI think Dexter truly is... in love lol. As cheesy as it may sound, I think he is not thinking that rationally right now.
ReplyDeleteShe murdered a number of people for selfish gain and possibly for sport, in addition to poisoning Deb.
ReplyDeleteFor gain not sport.
ReplyDeleteGeez, there's nothing wrong with favoring a fictional character because you find them attractive, but I guess you're a better person than most of us. Plus...isn't that how her character ended up getting the upper hand on a number of men, including Dexter? Their judgment was swayed by physical attraction?
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to Hannah Dexter tends soften and not think rationally. Guess that's what love does to you. ;)
ReplyDeleteDid you read the new spoiler??
Hannah is not just my problem. 90% of the core audience at DD do not like Hannah. It's because there are people who love this show since 7 years as their favorite show and not people who just watch out for hot actresses and don't care if the characters they play are evil characters.
ReplyDeleteI like YS and she's a beauty.
ReplyDeleteSome comments here show that here are more people who are not watching Dexter since 7 years as their favorite show. (in contrast to DD where nobody would say that this was one of the best episodes of season 8)
ReplyDeleteI never said, never mind screw it.
ReplyDeleteGod, I hope not. Don't get me wrong, I like Hannah. She's hot and a great character and Yvonne is making a wonderful job. But I think Hannah would be a poor choice for
ReplyDeletea spin off. What makes Dexter so likable is, that he justifies his killings with the fact that he kills only killers, which (besides the fact that he kills without any emotion) makes him a hero in my book. He is in his own way protecting innocent people.
And here is, where Hannah is different. She kills only for her own benefit. It's been a
while since I saw her in the last season, so please correct me, if I forgot something. I think, killing is for Hannah just the easiest way to solve her problems and make sure she gets what she
wants. Her latest late husband is another prove. She contacted him after escaping, cause she needed money and a new identity. Which I understand. She manipulated
him into marriage.
She kills. And that is why I think a
Hannah spin off wouldn't be a success.
I still hope they'll make a Deb or Harry spin off.
I never said it was. I just said it was part of her appeal, which seems fair.
ReplyDeleteNep I am staying away from spoilers :P
ReplyDeleteWell it sure looks like she is your problem. Cuz we've been witnessing this since season 7 that she means no harm to Dexter and infact have made the show more interesting, yet all i have seen you doing is say how evil she is and blah blah blah... The definition of evil maybe different in your dictionary than most people.
ReplyDeleteWell you seem to have maybe something that figures out that how many % of the viewers don't like a specific character.
ReplyDeleteYes and you can have your DebsterForever Happily ever after.lol
ReplyDeleteSeriously don't even talk to me. Cuz you're clearly ship blinded. BYE!!
Oh well you'll find out eventually.
ReplyDeleteAnd the hell you keep saying Core Audience?? Yea you're the only one who's been following the show for 7 years. Geez...
ReplyDeleteI think we only have a few options.
ReplyDeleteFirst I liked to say Hannah has a nurturing disposition, something she shares with Rita.
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember reading (on spoiler, weeks before the season started) that Jen said she would prefer to play in a comedy, cause this character (Deb) is too hard and heavy.
True that is fair.
ReplyDeleteIf Hannah raises Harrison, I don't think it will be kidnapping in the sense that she did it behind Dexter's back.
ReplyDeleteObviously, to some degree I'm getting ahead of myself, but I do see potential for it to end that way.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think about the characters in spectrum I would actually put Deb somewhere near Lila, because they both are extroverted-high-energy-absorbing, manipulative, psychotic, and often put people in uncompromising positions --sometimes inadvertently without realizing the consequences.
ReplyDeleteIt's not that I don't think YS is attractive.
ReplyDeleteIt is my favorite show that is "currently" on TV.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you're referring to an upcoming antagonist interview as 'the latest spoilers', but that interview doesn't imply anything except that the person doesn't know what the final scene is.
ReplyDeleteDeb and Harry would work perfectly for me.
I really hope Jen won't take roles in sitcoms. It would really be a waste of her talent.
Just... couldn't have said it any better!!
ReplyDeleteI mean of course Yvonne/Hannah is an attractive lady but my/our attraction and likeness towards her isn't solely based on that, in fact like you said it's more an emotional attraction.
Yvonne has played the character so tremendously. An actor can make or break a character no matter how Amazing it is.
Well i was like 99% sure Deb poisoned herself but then Hannah confessed she did it and i was like ' No way!' i think it would have been much more interesting had they gone that way.
ReplyDeleteDebra was never really mature when it came to her personal life.
