total mind bender for sure, but an awesome ep all the way around that really answered some big questions while opening some some really big ones as well! Can't wait til next season!
Awesome episode and wow Alec go back in time to save.......Emily? Kiera, Kellog and the rest of Libert8 kept prisoners of freelancers (I don't expected that).
The revelations: Betty be the mol was obvious, Asher be Alec's father that is a good surprise and Jason be Alec's son is great too.
I don't understand why Carlos and Betty go after Julian sounds a little strange for me.
The captain is from the future or he is the creator of Piron?
So the freelancers corrected the timeline, but with Alec back to the past means another timeline was created, that is a genius way to keep the show going for more seasons.
Continuum........not only the best Sci - Fi genre series, but one of the best series on TV now (Top Ten) IMHO! Great finale for a great series that never lets you down and just keeps getting better. Has Carlos joined Theseus with Betty? Can Alec save Emily? How will Liber8 and Kiera escape the "Freelancer"? Curtis alive and with the "Freelancers" (WTH), and poor Lucas.........no one would listen to him. Simon Barry is a "Mad Genius"..............now if you could show Jay Firestone and Emily Andras how to save (your sister series) Lost Girl you'd be a "Mad Ace" in my book. From here what next............Continuum season 3 here we come! DOWN 4 THE LIBER - ROMMIE, I will be Nobody!!!
Called Esher being Alec's father! But didn't see the other 99% of the episode coming.. freaking awesome! It feels like a blend of Fringe and the very best recent Time Travel movies.
Agree, The man behind this show, he has "mad vision." This is kind of how I felt about Supernatural once upon a time. This though, it's just out there, flipping amazing.
My only question... How far back did Alec go? Cause the answer, it's everything.
I hope Alec can save Emily (really, really hope) because I think for him, it's the only chance he has to do what he needs to. Free of Escher, she's a weapon and his Muse.
Also, it's clear... no matter how much many of these people hate each other, at the end of the day, they must become united.
If you could have everybody on the same page, you'd have the forces to take on the freelancers and change the world / prevent the bad future. I mean... really... Libre8 + Kiera + Carlos + Betty + Jason and lead together by Alec and Theseus... yeah... I'll take some of that.
I don't expect it out of the box, but I'd love to see us going there by the end of season 3
Well put..........I like the way you think when it comes to this series. The "Freelancers" appear to be the real threat now. They have a "Any Means Necessary" attitude and don't seem to serve or answer to anyone but themselves. Even Escher wanted nothing to do with these "Freelancers"! Simon Barry is the most outstanding Producer/Writer for a syndicated/imported series 2013 for me. I can't wait for Continuum season 3! DOWN 4 THE LIBER - ROMMIE, I am Nobody!!!
I am confused as hell. I don't mind a bit of a mind-f**k, but some of this is just sloppy writing and/or editing. Where did Alex go (past? future?), who was he trying to save, what was up with Kiera's husband in the future, did he know she was going to go to the past or what, why is Carlos now with Alex's brother and mother, why didn't they kill Kiera anyway after Alex went into the time portal, what the hell is up with everybody being in time portal jail, and just how many timelines are we talking about here? Seriously, I am starting to get the feeling that they're making this up as they go along. Shades of LOST.
Прекрасный сериал! Финал сломал мой мозг! После Lost - это лучший сериал в этом жанре. С нетерпением жду продолжения. Алек! Верни Эмили! И помоги Кире вернуться домой!
What I got from the episode: Where did Alex go (past? future?), Past who was he trying to save, Emily what was up with Kiera's husband in the future, did he know she was going to go to the past or what, After Kiera had too many questions about the execution Elder Alec had wiped Kiera's memory of the device so he knew something was fishy, why is Carlos now with Alex's brother and mother? Carlos stated very clearly he did not like the direction the police and the city were going so he's going to see what Julian can offer, why didn't they kill Kiera anyway after Alex went into the time portal, For some reason unknown to us, they can't kill the time travelers, so they lock them up, what the hell is up with everybody being in time portal jail, see previous answer, and just how many timelines are we talking about here? Since it has been mentioned by Esher several times that Kiera changed everything, I'm assuming it's a looping time line until Elder Alec said F it and threw Kiera in the mix.
Seriously. This last episode was a major WTF, especially for a season that progressed at a relatively slow pace. This episode provided very few answers but raised a lot of questions! The only thing I predicted was that Emily's death would result in Alex betraying Kiera. I just didn't predict that he would actually try to go back in the past to save her. I hate the idea of Carlos teaming up with Julian, especially since he's really been the only person that Kiera has been able to trust.
Like most time travel shows, it will be impossible for the writers to resolve everything neatly, but I really hope that they have a defined endgame. Otherwise, we will end up with another LOST disaster.
Thanks. I probably should have paid more attention when I watched this last episode.... I completely missed that she didn't recognize the device the next day, which is how her husband knew that her memory had been erased.
D'oh, of course it was Emily that Alex wanted to save -- I must have been so overwhelmed with all the other questions brought up in the episode that my brain short-circuited. ;-)
Thanks, your other explanations are helpful, as well. (I'm not sure about them not being able to kill the time travelers, though, because it sure seemed like they were ready to kill Kiera, calling her a "glitch" in the timeline.)
Time portal? What are you talking about? Looked like just a prison to me. Time travelers not being able to die is a weird one. Not sure that is even the case, traves looked pretty dead to me.
I'm starting a love-hate relationship with this show. I'd swear that they were making this convoluted stuff up on the fly but I know they're not. They planned it from the beginning.
What happened to Kiera in the finale (in a hospital gown, drugged, locked away) was exactly like the bad dream she had at the beginning of the season, in the future. So, she had a bad dream which was really a memory of something that hadn't happened yet... or already happened. Confused? Yeah, so is everyone else.
Was an awesome finale so Alec said he put in the time info for Kiera. Dose that means he is going to show up where Kiera left at the execution in that room or will it be somewhere else?
the only thing i didn´´t realize was esher saying "we are keeping the family business running" and also elder alec saying to jason "this is the only way to stoping it" but the question is, to stop what exactly? personally i think this timeline is over and alec went to the moment kiera is about to show up.That way ,because he already knows everything he must know from the timeline he comes from, he will join forces with esher from from the beginning and try to send the new kiera back. The fact that elder alec just says that a cop who wants to know the truth, that has values and stuff perhaps shows that was the moment he choose kiera to try to correct him and to influence him whith her own values and therefore the future wont be so bad because of that
Basically he needed her to go back, to have a good influence on himself and because of that the future will be diferent.
Questions... When did Alec go? Why did the freelancers keep all the time travelers alive? How are they going to get out? And What is Carlos doing with Theseus?
true, they shouldn't confuse prople so much that they forget the main plot, and enter a world of alternate dimensions and false identities and dark secrets
That one gets me too, why can't they be killed, and how is chen still alive. UGH! Might I recommend www.continuumpodcast.com, Mike and Dave are the hosts and do a fantastic job talking through every episode. It'll open up even more thoughts on every episode. It's usually released every Wednesday.
I believe Alec was lying to both Esher and Kiera the entire episode. He made Escher think he was all into the father/son ruling the world thing, and Kiera believe he wanted to send her home. In reality, Alec just wanted to get the device to the ant-matter room anyway possible to go save Emily. He says he input the coordinates for Kiera, but I think he put whatever he needed to save Emily.
Woah! Continuum always seems to have a new plot twist that just yanks you out of your preconceived notions about this show. I love the scifi in this show. The characters can sometimes twist and turn with the plots that are written for them, but I still think these characters are quite interesting.
I feel bad for Keira, what with everybody, including Alec now, against her. It actually pains me to watch her so hurt, and raw with emotions, in her desperation to get back to her family. When Keira is vulnerable, girl's like a gaping wound. This finale answered a few more questions and added more layers to the story, while still leaving us intrigued for more. We now know a little more of what the freelancers' motives are, as well as who some of the key characters, we've seen introduced this season, are.
I hope next season isn't too far away, because I am very eager to find out what's going to happen to our beloved characters. I'm most interested in seeing how Keira, perhaps in concert with Liber8, get out of their predicament with the freelancers. That should be fun to see. Despite flaws, Continuum's a very interesting show. (P.S. Yes, I am very late in watching and reviewing this show. Been catching up with other shows and didn't finish this season finale episode until today.)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
total mind bender for sure, but an awesome ep all the way around that really answered some big questions while opening some some really big ones as well! Can't wait til next season!
ReplyDeleteWhaaa!?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what I just watched.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS, Continuum. You officially broke my mind. I have absolutely no idea what is going on now...and I LOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, what the hell is going on? I...I am not sure of anything in this show anymore.
googolplex out of five.

Great season finale. Love the fight sequence between Travis and Keira. Season 3 is going to be interesting.

ReplyDeleteWell it was awesome nothing more than awesome. It had great story and conclusion and season 3 will be most definitely a new beginning for all.
ReplyDeleteWat. Did. Just. Happen. My mind is a mess, i don't understand shit of the episode xD
ReplyDeleteWOW, just..... WOW! Continuum is fast becoming the next Fringe in terms of WTF moments!
ReplyDeleteMind=blown. Best episode ever.
ReplyDeleteThe elevator action sequence was the coolest i've ever seen.
Confused as f**k!! What the hell did just happen?!?
