  1. Looks good, even the sfx look pretty decent for once. :)

  2. I'm getting more iffy about this project with every new promo. Sad because it started out as one of my most highly anticipated new shows.

  3. Well IMO "decent" is an overstatement, but they certainly look better than the ones they usually have.

  4. I was "meh" to begin with.... the promos haven't been helping....

  5. Well I think we're pretty much getting the same footage over and over, since I think they haven't even starting filming the second episode (or are about to). I'm hoping we'll see a lot more once we get closer to fall.

  6. No it's not that. Other new shows barely have any new footage in their promos either, and I don't mind.
It's the direction they seem to have decided to steer their promotion towards which isn't helping...

  7. Hell with the second episode.... they haven't even finished the first. They shot a 19 minute presentation which ABC accepted. They only resumed filming the other half of the first episode 2 days ago. So really, they don't have very much footage to add in at all yet.

  8. I am disliking the focus on romance to promote the show instead of selling it as an action-adventure. Now it may be that the trailers are misleading and my initial feeling was right; however, for right now it is moving lower on my must-see new TV list.

  9. I think the romance angle is one of the main themes (which it is on OUAT too, it's just Once is expanding in a way where that theme has to last and finish the series. so they have to occasionally pretend that they're moving away from it and/or flesh it out in exploring other concepts) -But some of OUAT firs promos really played to the romance of Snow and Prince Charming and how that Romance was shattered/put on pause by the Curse and 'The Evil Queen'....

But I also think that until we see Jafar, more Red Queen, White Rabbit, and Aladdin characters, we're not going to get the sense of adventure in the promos, because what they shot is the beginnings of adventures, which comes from a drive from a romantic place to set the love story tone.

I have a feeling Alice was able to rely on Cyrus during the last go around and now she has to rely more on herself and The Knave, which I think will be adventurous....Most likely this story will also have some things in common with OUAT's third season thinking of Bae and Emma and Belle and Rumple, let alone "if" there is a way to see or bring back the dead in Neverland (Regina/Noah)

  10. I'm not too crazy that they aren't balancing the romance with the action better either. But the fact that it also seems to be way over the top cheesy "epic" romance isn't helping.

  11. I would have preferred a more balanced presentation of the romantic aspect in relation to the adventure part (after all they have shot the Jafar stuff by now haven't they?). But that's not my main problem.
I'm more that fine with romance...

It's the type of romance that they seem to be portraying that is problematic for me.
It stinks of Snow/Charming vibes.... and I hate the Snow/Charming romance. So I'm finding myself unable to really connect or care at this moment.

I wasn't too keen on the idea to begin with. However despite Once's decline in quality, it did start out OK. That fact had me willing to give Wonderland a fair shot.
They just haven't been winning me over with how they've been pimping the show so far.
After two years of watching Once I can tell how these guys handle things and if this is their direction, I'm finding myself less and less inclined to spend any time on this show.

  13. Call me a deluded optimistic but for once (no pun intended) I actually feel that there is a chance the deathslot curse is broken.

  14. Hey! I just found this article from IGN from OUAT in WONDERLAND at the TCA Press Tour. The producers/writers insist that "Alice will kick ass!" and I wanted to send it your way, in case Spoiler TV doesn't post my submission, because I know you were concerned about it. I thought the reassurance might make you feel a little better :)

  15. Thank you so much for sharing this. This article is more in line with what I was originally thinking with the series and what I hope it will be like. It does make me feel a lot more positive about the show.
