Once Upon a Time in Wonderland - Emma Swan's Beetle in Steveston

8 Aug 2013

As we all pretty much know by now, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland will be filming scenes in Steveston tonight from around 8pm.

They've recreated a tiny part of Storybrooke in the town at the moment, although the Romanian Bread store hasn't been changed and the big Storybrooke sign is nowhere to be seen.

Maybe they haven't finished setting up yet, because the Storybrooke Library sign wasn't up either.

Anyhow, I was curious to see that Emma Swan's yellow beetle is in the parking lot.

  1. I'm confused, i haven't been following ONCE Wonderland. How is storybrooke going to be connected to it?

NO idea, but you see Granny's Dinner in one of trailers.

  3. No way to tell what this is about. It could be something as simple as an Easter egg they're putting into the spinoff.

  4. This is the description of the beginning of the 19 minute presentation that they showed at Comic-con:

"It starts with the destruction of Storybrooke, everything is in chaos (Like the last 2 episodes of Season 2) and the first thing we see is the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) walk into Granny’s Diner. Leroy sees him and then bursts in saying “Hey! What are you doing?! We have to go!” so the Knave of Hearts turns around and says “Sorry but I’m staying here alone.” and Leroy looks at him like What? and then leaves the diner. The Knave of Hearts walks over to the counter and makes himself a coffee, puts money on the counter for it and then takes it back after deciding he wants to keep the money. Out of no where, a hole forms inside the Diner’s floor and out pops a rabbit. The Knave says “What are you doing here?” and the rabbit says “We have to go find her! We don’t have much time! He’s alive!” So they rush out of Storybrooke."

  5. But... I thought the "real" part of the spin-off was set in the early 1900s...

  6. The Knave of Hearts is wearing modern day clothing in the promo photos, so that suggests that he was in present-day Storybrooke and travelled back in time with the white rabbit to the Victorian era to get Alice.

  7. Thanks, I must have missed those photos!

  8. He was wearing modern clothes on the set last night too

  9. I have a feeling (judging by his outfit in the promos) the Knave is actually in Storybrooke when Wonderland begins....

  10. Oh hey! I was right!!!!

  11. Or maybe it's not time travel.... maybe it's a "parallel Victorian world" kind like how Frankenstein's world was another land....

(BTW I really don't like this approach Kitsis and Horowitz seem to have finally committed to, regarding how portals and timeline works in this universe. I feel it's a half ass way to cover up their piss poorly thought out process that went into that issue when they were creating Once.)

  12. It could be, I'd actually like that better. I'm not really eager to see time travel on the show.

  13. As things are I agree it's better than straight up time travel.
My problem is that I don't like the premise of the explanation in its essence.
