Once Upon a Time - Hook's Ship in Steveston - 8 August 2013

Named in honour of Martha Washington, the wife of George Washington (first President of the United States), the Lady Washington was the first American vessel to reach Japan in an unsuccessful attempt to move some unsold pelts. Sadly, the original Lady Washington was lost in 1797 but a replica was made in 1989.

The Lady Washington plays the part of Killian Jones' ship, the Jolly Roger on Once Upon a Time. Captain Hook's beloved Tall Ship sailed into Steveston yesterday afternoon without fuss. It was a sight to behold. I'd learned from a friend that she was due into Steveston, so decided to make a day of it in the village.

I wasn't disappointed. She sailed up the Gulf of Georgia into Britannia Shipyard and came to a stop behind the Once Upon a Time replica of the ship. The replica has been stripped bare and isn't worth a second look at the moment, but the actual Lady Washington is well worth a look.

Is this a sign that The Jolly Roger Gang are on their way back to Storybrooke?

Of course, this could also be something to do with the Maritime Festival that's going on in Steveston too.
