TVLine has learned that the search for a full-time castmember to fill the void left by departing leading lady Cote de Pablo is currently underway at the CBS hit.
According to just-released casting intel, the new twentysomething female character — named Bishop — “is bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward. She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism. She’s traveled extensively, but only feels comfortable at home.”
The start date is listed as mid-October, which puts the newbie’s arrival around January or February.

That should give us enough time to grieve for Ziva's Departure tho i'm very confident Cote De Pablo will return to NCIS.
ReplyDeleteWell we knew it would happen but i was hoping they would have hired a few actors and rotate them in...
ReplyDeleteThey are doing that until the new girl arrives.
ReplyDeleteWonder how many second it will take before the shippers start their thing
ReplyDeleteneed to cast something who is not all good looking female agent......but also look tough
ReplyDeletePlease don't be another love interest for Tony. While I love Tony/Ziva, I'd like to see him become more competent and less playboy and be a good mentor/awesome senior field agent for the new girl.
ReplyDeleteI was kinda hoping Dorneget would be her replacement, he has a nice dynamic with both McGee and Tony.
Jena Malone or Julie McNiven
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that, if they're going to replace Ziva, the replacement would be a probie and it seems like that'll be the case.
ReplyDeleteLet the all-out brawl for TV's most coveted network gig begin!
Yep, I love Dorney. It's a shame it's not him, but I am rooting for great casting.
ReplyDeleteYep.I was hoping they would stick with a few 'newbies'.We already had 2 twentysomething fresh face agents...Actually i was hoping to see more of Ned Dorneget and an older women hired.
ReplyDeleteGood point! I just wonder if it's too late in the series. Always thought Gibbs had a couple "friends" who work outside the system for times when Vance is being Vance.
ReplyDeleteStill a wonderfully written show. Still disappointed they launched the head of the LA branch as I liked the past conflict between Gibbs and her.
Julie McNiven made fun of my pants once.
ReplyDeleteMark Harmon has himself a gold mine.
ReplyDeleteTwentysomething, bright, athletic, fresh-faced, etc. C'mon people. I'm sure you have some suggestions...
ReplyDeleteJust to get the ball rolling, how about...
Shelley Hennig
Arielle Kebbel
Danielle Panabaker
Alexandra Chando
Naya Rivera
Kylie Bunbury (if Twisted gets canceled)
She being a probie will be awesome! I remember fondly on the days McGee was a probie...
ReplyDelete-3 :P
ReplyDeleteAlona Tal...? (though if given the choice I'd prefer Jo back on SPN)
ReplyDeleteI do like your idea of Naya Rivera, quite a bit.
Maybe also Jurnee Smollett-Bell (I know she just got a part in Parenthood... though it's reccurring right?)
But Tiva and McAbby. I can't ship anything but!
ReplyDeleteI like Alona Tal but she's a wee bit too old for the role. However, given her Israeli heritage and her ability to speak Hebrew fluently, I've always wanted her to recur on NCIS as a Mossad agent.
ReplyDeleteAs for Jurnee Smollett-Bell, I'd be willing to give her a shot.
Jurnee was in Friday Night Lights?
ReplyDeleteFor my first post, I'm going to put this idea out there in the universe and hope it comes true. I've always wished for Kelly to be alive and reunited with her father. I don't recall Gibbs ever personally identifying his wife and daughter's bodies when he returned stateside for their funeral. If I remember correctly, I don't think a mere sight identification would've been possible considering how they died. It could be so easily written that Kelly survived and went into witness protection as a means of hiding her from the cartel that put out the hit on Shannon. Flash forward to present day, the new character of Bishop joins Gibbs and the rest of his team. I would love for a mystery to evolve around Bishop and later it's discovered she's really Kelly. After all, it would make sense she would follow in her father's footsteps and try to find a way to reunite with him all these years later. That would be an awesome story with so many avenues to explore.
ReplyDeleteShe's only 31, but can pass for 27-28 easy, so I don't think her age is too problematic.
ReplyDeleteI know they said "twentysomething" but 27-28 is still most likely the very high end of what they're looking for. Besides, Tal's presence more easily exudes experience and a self-assured nature when what it seems they're looking for is a character who is more green, new, and (just speculating here) more naively idealistic.
ReplyDeleteShe was :)
ReplyDeleteRealistically though I don't think anyone under 25 would make it into NCIS.... so 27-28 isn't that far off. Im not saying it's on the high end of the spectrum, I'm just saying it's still well within the margin.
ReplyDeleteAs for Alona's presence, personally I think she's quite versatile so if they need her to be more "naive" and "green" than what you might presume her to be, I have faith that she'll pul it off in her performance without any problems.
I think the ability to realistically pull off those traits have more than a little to do with age and, again, I think she's moving past her window for that. I guess we just flat-out disagree on this point. It happens.
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for this, although I might be by January or February.
ReplyDeleteAnd she better not be a love interest.
Well if they want to end the series, they can replace her with Summer Glau. I don't think Tony will hit on her too hard, prob sad about Ziva but I also don't think she will act as rude to him as Ziva did when she first worked there.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you're right. :)
ReplyDeleteMe neither! :D
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that they would promote Dorneget to the spot too! XD
ReplyDeleteThis is so wrong, stop trying to replace her, it worked with Kate cause it was only 2 seasons, after 8 years of Ziva this isn't gonna work ... Bring a familiar face, but not a new girl soon-to-be love interest for Tony. Or even more annoying, making her Tim's Ziva ...
ReplyDeleteOkay Scott,i just have to ask.Why did she make fun of your pants?
ReplyDeleteA twitter discussion of 70's fashion and I tweeted a picture of a red and black checkerboard pair of pants I wore in the seventh grade.
ReplyDeleteI don't see why anyone would have concerns about this girl being a love interest for Tony. She'll be roughly half his age and she'll be his subordinate. Maybe the Tony of 4-5 seasons ago would have went in for that but not now. Also, they've already cast a love interest for McGee named Delilah so that's not a concern either. Your complaints are seemingly unfounded.
ReplyDeleteOhMyGawd, haha! That must of been a sight to behold!! ;)
ReplyDeleteYep. Quite loud.
ReplyDeleteThey did a revolving door of Kate replacements until they put in Ziva full time, if I remember correctly. Not really looking forward to them doing it again.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the new character won't be a love interest for Tony, I'll be fine with it. I hate that ever girl he sees is a love interest - so hopefully they will just be friends and nothing more.
