Katherine Heigl, who played Dr. "Izzie" Stevens on ABC hit Grey's Anatomy, hopes to star in a new, untitled drama, and NBC, among other networks, is negotiating for the project, sources say.
The series, a drama that Heigl is attached to star in and produce, is being written by Alexi Hawley. Details are unclear, but Hawley's background as a writer-producer on ABC's Body of Proof and Castle suggests the project would be a procedural drama rather than the kind of medical soap that made the actress a household name.
Her new project is currently in the script stage, but her potential return is likely to make it a serious contender for the 2014-15 season.

I hear the procedural focuses on how the CIA handles hotspots around the globe, with Heigl playing an advisor/communications liaison for the U.S. President.

I'd watch, tbh. I love Katie.
ReplyDeleteI would give it a try for sure, she is an awesome actress
ReplyDeleteAnother procedural?
ReplyDeleteI know... There's too many already but if heigl's in i'll watch for sure, i still miss her on grey's
ReplyDeleteShe's way way better in TV drama's than rom com movies. Roswell and Grey's are easily her best work. I will deffo watch this, although part of me hopes for a Grey's return before the show ends.
ReplyDeleteEven though this is a procedural, I'll watch it just for Katherine if it gets picked up. I still want Izzie back on Grey's but I know that's not happening.
ReplyDeleteI don't disagree roswell and greys were great but she was in some great movies too like life unexpected, 27 dresses and some good ones like descedants, knocked up and ugly turth
ReplyDeleteThe project would have to be fantastic on all levels for me to even consider watching something with Katherine Heigl again.
ReplyDeleteI just read this title after a long day and thought to myself "God, really, there's even a "shopping drama"? What kind of drama is that - the frustration of having to choose items to buy?"... Am I the only one who was misled by the title or I'm actually that stupid/tired?
ReplyDeleteShe's decent as a supporting but unless there are a couple of strong leads I can't imagine her carrying a show.
ReplyDeleteI could tolerate a supporting role. I, knowing full well I'm in the minority, am of the opinion that too much Katherine Heigl isn't a good thing.
ReplyDeletelol i thought that for a moment when i didn't want to believe that someone could shop a show... as english is not my 1st language, "shopping drama pilot" sounds weird and i don't really know if i understad it lol
ReplyDeleteLOL, a shopping drama may be interesting, tbh.
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened to me, too! It might be because I just read that post about the Wizard of Oz-like medical drama, so more strange ideas are becoming less surprising, haha.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE: This is a CIA drama.

Ooh, CIA drama. This definitely sounds interesting to me.
ReplyDeleteJust what we need, another copy of the same character by Heigl and another procedural.
ReplyDeletethere are too amny shows about cops or things liek that .. i think we need a break from that
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a fan of her either.
ReplyDeleteHear hear...
ReplyDeleteHEAR HEAR!!!! x2
ReplyDeleteKatherine Heigl is the least interesting selling point to me.... it's a good thing some of the other creative name attached I have quite a bit of faith in.
