Yesterday, after the table read for the 200th episode, Shonda Rhimes posted a picture of the cast at the table read on her WhoSay, which accidentally revealed Dr. Richard Webber's fate, after his life was left hanging when he got electrocuted in the Season 9 finale.
She quickly realized what she had done and deleted the photo. She then tweeted the following, which she also deleted soon.
Thanks to Wetpaint for the photos.
I like how I didn't even realize she accidentally spoiled it when I first saw the Tweet yesterday. I was pretty convinced he was dead, tbh. Glad he survived!
ReplyDeleteGlad he's okay!
ReplyDeleteLast year they released BTS photos of Sloane working in the hospital seemingly alive, that turned out to be flashbacks. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a deliberate bluff to convince us he survived, like she/they did with Sloane.
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't working in the hospital, he was lying in the hospital. And by that I mean as a patient. That was the photo that Patrick Dempsey tweeted.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he's not dead but I would have been okay if it went the other way. At least I can now go in to season 10 with only the thought of Sandra Oh's exit bothering me
ReplyDelete"At least I can now go in to season 10 with only the thought of Sandra Oh's exit bothering me."
ReplyDeleteThere is still the possibility of the other originals leaving after S10. The others haven't made a decision yet.
Whew!!
ReplyDeletePatrick said in an interview that he'd be willing to continue, Ellen hinted the same. No idea about Chandra and Justin.
ReplyDeleteBut they haven't made it official yet. My point is, we don't know until they announce it. There is always something that can come up, e. g. Eric Dane left because of his role in "The Last Ship".
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's going to be a ghost like Denny?
ReplyDeleteYay :) First Grey's final in which nobody died?
ReplyDeleteIt great to see him but really they are only doing a read through. We don't know what he is actually reading through, for all we know he could be having flashbacks,he could last a few episodes. My point is we won't know until the show starts or until we start seeing him in the promos for the 3rd,4th,5th episodes.. Knowing Shonda this was done intenionally..
ReplyDeleteGod please no!
ReplyDeleteAs I've previously said she's a liar.... I won't believe it until it's aired....
ReplyDeleteThat may have been one but the ones I recall showed Sloane alive and well in a doctors coat talking to someone at reception or something. There was also some discussion about Arizona leaving which meant during that first episode I was convinced Arizona had died and Sloane would survive. I find Shonda is one of the rare writers out there who uses Twitter/Interviews to actually mislead the fans who follow spoilers and I think its great. That said, I don't believe for a second that Richard will be leaving.
ReplyDeleteWhat if it is an episode with flashbacks including Richard, still necessary to be at the table read, not necessarily part of the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteI think that scene might have been from the Sloane tribute episode they did.
ReplyDeleteWell, Denny was not a ghost, but a hallucination. ;]
ReplyDeleteThe 200th episode being richard's funeral w/ flashbacks of his life would seem fitting.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one disappointed that he didn't die? His story is over IMO. What's left for him? I'm hoping that because it's the 200th ep, he'll appear as some flashback or whatnot and he is actually dead.
ReplyDeleteThere were other finales where nobody died. ;)
