Filming began yesterday in Dubrovnik, Croatia and there are quite a few nice behind-the-scenes looks at the Thrones cast!
Filming in Croatia will be in Dubrovnik until September 20 and then move to Split from September 20 until October 10.
Večernji list (Evening Paper) posted a nice selction as well as a brief write up of the first day. Rain.
Our team is among the first peered at Dubrovnik set. Although the start of shooting scheduled for noon, delayed it a big rain yesterday landed at Dubrovnik. But the next day city walls become permanent home series stars Lena Heady, Kit Harington and others. As we found out, the series will be shot in other locations in the Adriatic Sea in Split, Diocletian's cellars and the Klis fortress. Have been announced and shooting in Baska Voda. Although some time was questionable whether the team and hit return to Croatia, all obstacles were resolved.

The set and scenery has always been amazing on the series, but some of these behind-the-scenes looks at locations and set really leave me awe-struck! I expect some awesome sets in Season 4!

I'm very late with getting into the show. I am still figuring out the characters and storylines, but enjoying it very much. Can do without all the nudity and porn stuff though. I know I sound like a broken record with this, but I personally feel it's uncalled for. It's for the male viewers not the women. I do realize the books are worse and I haven't read them. Overall I am looking forward to the new season.

Personally I do not mind it, I could take it or leave it, but I completely understand that graphic violence and nudity are not for everyone! Glad you enjoy enjoy the series despite that!

On one of the largest fansites for the series there are for more comments from women (and a few men) requesting or even demanding more male nudity and more graphic male nudity at that. Far more than comments asking for more female nudity and probably more than comments asking for less female nudity.
Truthfully I always find it more disturbing on many shows where everyone sleeps fully clothed, most have sex half clothed, and some even bathe with clothes on! It always seems so false to me.

Uhhhh the sex and nudity is really not bad at all. Don't ever EVER watch Spartacus if you have a problem with the mild nudity in Game of Thrones. The scenes in this show are completely in line with the descriptions given in the book, they are just doing their part to give George RR Martin the respect he deserves by visualizing the series exactly as he did when he wrote the books and gave us a vivid imagination of the world of Westeros. Its not a kind world he invented, so why in the world would anyone want to watch this series if it were GRated? So yes you are a broken record, just stop watching if you're gonna be like that.

ReplyDeleteIt's not the sex and nudity so much as the fact that there are children on the show. It's not right. How do these children get to watch their show if there is so much sex and nudity on it? You must not be a parent otherwise you might understand how my thinking is going. Also, in the books these are supposedly children having sex with adults. It's disgusting. I am glad that on the show (of course) they have adults acting out the characters, but really? All these cable shows have so much of it nowadays. It's overload of junk in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteoh NICE! I walked by the filming while i was in Dubrovnik, but today I realized it must have been Game of Thrones after hearing it was filmed in Croatia.
