Treme‘s Michael Huisman is back at HBO with a recurring role on Game Of Thrones. Producers are keeping his role under wraps, but I hear he is replacing another actor on the show.

His name is Michiel Huisman :')
ReplyDeleteIf he's replacing an actor on the show, its got to be someone in a previous season like Loras, Darrio, grenn, another member of the nightswatch. Any word on what storylines have been taped already.
ReplyDelete'They' can't pronounce that ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine who he would be replacing for me!
ReplyDeleteThe original source for the news was a fitness trainer that posted a photo of Huisman working out and bulking up. Adding that factoid into the equation does not seem to make things easier though...
So we know...
1) Bulking up for the role.
Does this mean nude scenes or is it a role requiring size like a warrior?
2) He had another week of training before he starts filming according to the trainer.
So that means now Dubrovnik location is in play and King's Landing in the books. Of course he could film in Ireland and that means any arc would be possible.
3) Possibly replacing an actor in a role according to one of the 4 reports I read.
Grenn was my thought as well, but I thought I read he was filming already... I could be wrong. He could be replacing roles that have been extras until now like nameless Kings Gaurd roles. We met a few knights of the Vale in Season 1, maybe he will be taking up one of those roles?
I am at a loss and am going to attempt to wait and see which location he films at before I try again to glean his role. Honestly the last aspect of replacing someone eliminates every role I had considered him for before finding that bit out!! XD
As long ashe's not replacing Anguy (that guy was terrific!) I can live with it.
ReplyDeleteThey have already replaced The Mountain and Tommen with other actors before
Michiel Huisman is the new Daario Naharis!
ReplyDeleteHe will be replacing Ed Skrein according to The Hollywood Reporter.

I the recasting, but i'm not sure why the role requires him to be extremely muscular
ReplyDeleteAs I recall Daario of the books was lithe and lean, but perhaps he wanted to be stronger to be able to do fight scenes more easily and look more athletic? Or mayhbe just wanted to be ripped for the upcoming sex scenes! XD
ReplyDeleteIt'll be difficult to follow Khal Drogo's form! ;)
ReplyDeleteTrue!
ReplyDeleteHonestly I always appreciated the fact that Dany went in a completely different direction from Khal Drogo to Daario. From physically imposing and barbaric to flamboyant and cocksure - Like going from a pride lion to a peacock! XD
I personally always thought Daario was buffoon, but it made sense for the young teen Dany to fall for the badboy unlike anyone she has ever met before.
*Shrug*
Even if Huisman gets huge, he still will look more like Daario as described in the books than Ed Skrein did. He is good looking, has the chiseled look and sense of danger about him like Skrein, but he has the hooked nose, the facial hair (hopefully they keep it), and is a better actor from what I've seen! If they feel Husiman needs a wig a new wig wouldn't hurt either. Skrein's look so unnatural on him.
I agree completely with everything above. That being said, this guy, Michiel Huisman, to me looks more like Hizdahr zo Loraq should look than Daario. But time will tell. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe think alike! XD
ReplyDeleteI thought of Hizdarh zo Loraq and Tristofer Botley after I ruled out my first thought of Euron Greyjoy because he was too young.
All that changed when the detail that he was replacing someone came out. I really didn't think a role cast just last year would be replaced so I never even considered Daario honestly...Now however I can see the potential.
I do wonder why the switch happened, but we probably never hear why Skein needed to be replaced.
He's Dutch, Yeaaah! Nice :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm I never know what to think when they replace an actor. I can´t say that I´m sad that we are getting a new Daario though. It might work out great in the end (though it will be very strange in the first few episodes).
ReplyDeleteWell, at least he's replacing a character that had not been in many episodes, because I always have major issues with recasting, even though it's sometimes necessary.
ReplyDeleteHe's called Michiel Huisman, not Michael Huisman though. Great to see another actor from my land getting cast.
ReplyDeleteNo no no with the recasting! NO!!!!! Recasts suck and I expected more from GoT!
ReplyDeleteIt could've been worse, at least he's not replacing Jaqen H'ghar.
