CW is looking for a shot at Fame.

The youth-skewing network has picked up a script for an untitled drama from executive producers Sam Haskell and Fame star Debbie Allen, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Unlike the 1982-87 NBC/syndicated series, which was set in New York, The CW's entry takes place at a Los Angeles-area performing arts school. Matt Witten (House ) will pen the script and executive produce alongside Haskell and Allen via Magnolia Hill Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.

  1. I think the internet ate my comment. I loved Fame, back in the day, but with the CW I'm worried it'll be more about sleeping around/partying/drugs/etc, rather than actually performing or interesting storylines. I guess I'll wait and see.

  2. Wasn't there a failed Fame reboot in the late 90's that took place in LA though?

Eh either way.... I can see why the CW would order this type of show. And it could be fun.... could be. I hope Debbie Allen being on board is positive sing though.
