Alex Delaware is ready for his close-up.

Fox has placed a script order for an “adrenaline-packed mystery series” based on bestselling author Jonathan Kellerman’s books featuring the crime-solving psychologist, who joins forces with a closeted gay LAPD detective.

The project, from Jerry Bruckheimer’s Warner Bros.-based shingle, will be penned by former CSI: NY showrunner Pam Veasey.

Alex Delaware was first introduced in Kellerman’s 1985 novel When the Bough Breaks. To date, the character appears in 27 of the author’s books.

Bruckheimer, Veasey and Kellerman will serve as EPs alongside Jonathan Littman. KristieAnne Reed is a Co-EP.

  1. I have enjoyed the books, not sure about another cop show, will depend on who stars in it.

  2. Oh yay,i've read all his books.Depending on who plays Alex and Milo this could be a fantastic crime thriller series. And thinking about it they could do a book every season and not run out.... I am very excited by this news!

  4. I don't know how the series would be but the books are very good. And Milo, the detective is not closeted,it is known in his work and to his friends.Milo is all cop,not flamboyant at all.

  5. I don't think it would be purely a cop show. Since Alex is a shrink i would think they would blend it into being a crime, thriller, not necessarily a police procedural.
