Matthew Gumley, who recurred on Nickelodeon's Supah Ninjas, has landed one of the main roles in the cable network's comedy pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Divide and Conquer, a family comedy about love, support, attention and the other things parents do to mess up their kids, is led by parents Evan (Greg Grunberg) and Charlotte (Diane Farr) — hoping their kids make it out of the house someday. The project follows four children finding their way to adulthood in these complicated times, and the parents whose lives they're sucking dry to get there.
Gumley will play Ben, the oldest of the Ball children and unofficial leader of his group of friends. He is at that turning point in a boys' life when all he wants is his parents to leave him alone, and make his bed.

I read the title and thought it could be a series about actual ruthless conquerors and than it's a Family comedy on Nickelodeon, hahaha.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pilot for the USA Network, actually.
ReplyDeleteYeah the part of the article that's been brought over makes this kinda confusing. The new show is on USA, the show the kid used to be on was on Nickelodeon...
ReplyDeleteThe part you brought over makes that kind of confusing though.
ReplyDeleteI had to click to the source to actually figure that out. So you might consider mentioning Divide and Conquer is for USA on the title or something....
Greg Grunberg and Dianne Farr have me interested in this. Here's hoping the kid can keep up....
ReplyDeleteWell, we prefer to post only the necessary information to keep the stuff we post as small as possible; copyright stuff you know.
ReplyDeleteI get that and I'm not saying anything about the approach of picking a piece of the article to bring over. I'm just saying the segment you picked isn't clear enough.
ReplyDeleteMentioning what network this new show is would be considered as necessary information, and nowhere in what you brought over is USA mentioned.
Well we do have the pilots sorted by network in our pilot watch ( http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/06/2014-full-pilot-watch-spreadsheet.html).
ReplyDeleteBut I see what you're getting at, I'll post the network next time.
:)
ReplyDeleteThe pilot watch is very handy, but my point was you can't expect people to remember every pilot in development or to have to run to the pilot watch entry every time a new article is posted.

Or you can add in the first line of the article which you skipped: "USA Network's Divide and Conquer is shoring up its cast."
