I think you posted your comment on the wrong page. Surely you meant to write this on the Breaking Bad homepage. See, that show actually does something new and daring in its final season, unlike Dexter, whose writers have played it unbelievabely safe, and in the process created one of the worst and most boring final seasons I have ever seen.Dexter used to by my favourite show, but now it's just laughable.

  3. I may disagree with the notion of Dexter being the greatest show ever, but piss off.Breaking Bad may be great, and you may love it, but that doesn't mean it's the grow show in existence. Do you have any idea how annoying it is to read comments like yours when all you want to do is read a review of Dexter? Yes it's gone downhill, because that doesn't mean you should say "Breaking is so better, blah, blah..."

OK, here's your review of Dexter: Season 8 has been a mess so far, and this episode did absolutely nothing to improve the situation. I can't understand, what were the writers thinking, They knew in advance, that this was their final season, and still didn't take a chance to take Dexter (both the character AND the show) in some new interesting direction. Almost everything that has happened so far is a rehash of things that we've already seen in the previous seasons, and they were much better executed. Even without comparing it to Breaking Bad, or any other show, I think, that noone can deny, that Dexter has lost its sence of urgency, and the suspence, that once was there is simply gone. Just go back, and rewatch season 4, which remains one of my favourite seasons of any show, period. Back at those days, Dexter was genuinely thrilling. Now we are forced to waste so much time with Masuka's boring daughter, Quinn and Jamie's relationship, (which absolutely noone can seriously care about), and...whatever Batista is doing these days.
I always thought that the last season of Dexter, will be about him on the run, or in prison, or just something that hasn't been done to death already. But if we didn't know, that this is the final season, I doubt anyone would have recognized it, because it's really surprisingly uneventful.

  5. Dexter is like a puppy around Hannah but if I had to guess, he's gonna leave her behind to kill Saxton. So all there scenes have been and will continue to be useless. I don't think I'm wrong because it sure seems like Saxton is gonna kill someone close to Dexter.

  9. It remains to be seen how safe they will play it and for me, because I have yet to see "breaking Bad" Dexter is my all time second favorite show, right behind LOST.

I also think Dexter has always been "muddy pond" (and multi-layered) kind of show in relation to it's subject matter and it wouldn't surprise me, keeping to it's own style, that it would also end a bit muddy.

I think when you take big risks, you do have a possibility of ruining the series and alienating a lot of people and honestly Nihilistic existentialism has been covered by the Sapranos and I don't need to experience that again.

Every show has a style and is it's own work of art to be judged. You have every right to no longer find Dexter to your tastes, as you may have found what you have been looking for in BB bad, but I find it rude and tasteless not to realize that it is a different in "taste" and that you need to rain on other's enjoyment, for no good reason, except to advertise your beloved Breaking Bad, which I'm sure, I will enjoy one day too.

  11. Aww,me too!! :) But what i don't like,is that we're eventually going to loose one of our beloved character thanks to a psychopatic, spoiled brat with mummy unresolved issues.(or more specifically: Saxon doesn't like it when mum is 'playing' with other children...)

Because after spending seven years with the characters I am not going to stop watching with three hours of the show left. And because I am still hoping, that at least the series finale might be good. But you're right, if this wasn't the last season, I would probably stopped watching the show.
