Nice to see some Deb and Harrison! (Wonder what he's drawing though??). Been thinking about possible endings a lot, and the thought crossed my mind that Hannah could end up with Harrison in the end. How wild would that be?!
I would def be a surprise if he will, but I think MCH wants out, especially since he is also going to executive produce on another Scott Buck show for Showtime...The American Dream Machine...but unless the possible spin off is a prequel, someone has to survive!
Giving Dexter's son into the hands of the devil would be the most stupid end a series ever had. It would be a question of time until Harrison sends Hannah to hell. In hell Hannah then should marry Arthur Mitchell and be thankful for everything.
Totally disagree. Hannah has a very important quality which is thematic to the series, being nurturing. She always wanted a family, but never had one (impying she wanted to be a mother). This season with Vogal and the rumor about the "whether" plays to motherhood tying back to both Dexter and Debra in the sense that they really lacked a mother figure. So it actually would be brilliant, to end this series this way, especially when one considers the spin off.
Hannah isn't what I would call the devil. She's only messes with you if you mess with her first and she already got back at Dexter for "acting" like she was gonna kill him all wrapped in plastic
I'm not sure who she's married to, but I have read a lot of spoilers that lead me to theorize who it is, and it might be marriage that just has a shared agenda, rather than a deep love. -Plus given Hannah's history with Wayne Randall and her last partner before Dexter, I think it's given she might find him expendable!!
There will never be a Hannah spin-off because nobody would watch such a crap series. Hannah is a evil person who likes the killing and likes to talk about it. She kills in the most coward way. Dexter ever wished to not have this urge.
There are plenty of people who like Hannah enough. And one could argue she kills in a kind way. (one that doesn't include desecrating the body).
Personally I would love a Lumen spin off, but the way Hannah has been saved for the end of series in relation to the motherhood theme, might be sign that she is the lead in to a spin off.
It's constantly said in season 7, that she hates killing. She's not evil, she does what she needs to in order to survive. She's not like Lila in that way. I'd watch a Hannah spin-off, because even though I'm not a strong believer that it would work well given her character, I think Yvonne could easily carry the show given her acting ability and make up for the flaws in Hannah's character.
Then Hannah can have a hot scene with Saxon before Deb sends her to hell and everybody will be happy. In the extended version DVD they could also add a "Arthur Mitchell and Hannah in hell"-LoveScene for everybody who watchs Dexter just because of hot actors.
I hate Hannah even like the majority of the audience because she is just an annoying person like Laila was. I liked Rita and I liked Lumen. I even like YS. But the character she plays is just coward and evil.
She never was a danger for Debster because Dexter will ever chose Deb over Hannah when he has to. There is no doubt that Deb is his soulmate and the woman of his live. Dex just feared all the time to destroy the relationship he cares most about. Finaly Deb and Dex will be together. Either in live or in dead. Hannah has only a future in hell.
I even never wanted to see Deb and Dex together as long as the series runs because it would make no sense if Dexter loses his urge to kill. But that the end of all things in this series will just be about Dex and Deb was ever sure.
Seriously, as much as I love Deb, she's way more of an escapist and I think has way worse emotional problems than Hannah or Dexter. (But she's working on them now).
I agree that thematically they have made a point to show Deb's and Dex's great love and bond that I have absolutely no problem with it and I often root for it, but that doesn't mean that I need to hate other characters that threaten that relationship, especially when both Deb and Dex have done a great job sabotaging it themselves. (and lets not act like Deb still has two other love interests on the table, one of which I think will die, if not both of them)
As much fun as a Silence of Lambs ending would be for Dex, Deb, and Harrison, there are too many things that point that it probably won't end that way...One is the spin off, which they wouldn't need to create/or wouldn't need to branch off from, if everyone lives happily ever after. The second is the fact that Scott Buck just signed a two yr deal with showtime for a few projects, including The American Dream Machine in which MCH is listed to executive produce (and like Dexter and Sic Feet Under, it seems likely he will be cast in a role on that show). Thirdly, Jennifer Carpenter's comments at comic con express a deep need for Deb to be left gone at the bottom of the ocean, because she doesn't want to think about where Deb will be in the future. -Basically saying she wants to move on.
Even though John Lithglow did a fantastic job, I don't find him physically attractive, let alone everything about Arthur Mitchell!! There is only brutality, abuse, desperation, and aggressive blatancy in his overall demeanor. Hannah is opposite to that. (She runs both hot and cold, but so far she has been endearing and physically mild mannered, well out side of some of those sex scenes) If any other character could be in the same league as Arthur Mitchell, it probably would either be some of the minor drug lords and Lila West. -Lila is completely reckless and probably one of the most conniving (although she def shares a bend with Brian).
Deb isn't his soulmate, I like their relationship and I really enjoy seeing Dexter's need to have her in his life but they're not soul mates. She isn't like him, nor will he probably ever see her like that. I'm not saying Hannah is his soulmate nor do I ship them (well I don't ship anyone, the closest I ever got was Charah, but that's a whole different story) but I do think that Hannah was the closest he will ever get to one given she see's the real Dexter unlike Rita, but doesn't love him because of it (unlike the gross Lila and Vogel) in spite of it unlike Deb and doesn't need it unlike Lumen. Instead merely accepting it along with the rest of him. Again I have to stress that while I'm sympathetic to Hannah and like her and believe she's the closest he ever had to a perfect relationship , I don't particularly care what happens to them. (I really don't want to be associated with shippers) That being said I really, really don't want Hannah to try to kill Dexter (because come on wronged lover deaths are cliched) or Debster (because a) ewwww and b) I think an ending where Dexter and Debra emerge alright and live is stupid, given all the mistakes they both have made, which have cost others and themselves dearly) Finally, I really don't see where this whole Hannah is evil mindset comes from.
I disagree with you here. I def think they are "strong counterparts" and soul mates. Sometime in the West we think of soul mates as "one and only star-crossed pair", where in more Eastern thought it can be several people that you have unique dynamics with throughout your life --and through several lives.
I think the series shows us a lot of soul mates (important counterparts). People do not have to be "alike" to be a soul mate either, they just have to have special communion and which they have to work through something together. Deb is often written opposite to Dexter in terms of her disposition, which is why their story is so compelling and why it's equally about her, as it is about him. They are like "ying and yang" or in Plato's twin-flame theory they are often "opposite" forms.
I don't think anything is very clear. Hannah could in theory just kill Deb (or have Deb killed), so even though I agree that revenge of some sort might still be a motive, she's def going about it in a strange way. I also know she's going to need their help and it remains to be seen if it is all a ploy to emotionally take advantage of them, before she does do something brash. -But there are other people still to worry about too!!
I completely agree. I love Hannah. She's a killer but nor ruthless like you said it's more of a self preservation thing with her. I don't know how it's gonna end though, because why she's back is yet to be known. Love or revenge as Yvonne said. Though i'd love for a Dexter-Harrison-Hannah ending. Now if you ask me about Deb, i think she wouldn't survive, as Jennifer said she would want for Deb to die by the end.
I was actually not up for a Spin-off but given some theories that i read that if Yvonne is going to be the lead then i'm definitely up for it, not only because i love Hannah and Yvonne but i believe she's a great actor who as you said has the ability to carry a show.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Nice to see some Deb and Harrison! (Wonder what he's drawing though??).
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking about possible endings a lot, and the thought crossed my mind that Hannah could end up with Harrison in the end. How wild would that be?!
My guess is that Dexter and Hannah end up together with Harrison.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think that Dexter will actually survive the end of the season.
Please don't
ReplyDeleteNo Zach Hamilton uh? I suppose Dexter kills him in 8.08 or maybe he gets caught
ReplyDeleteI would def be a surprise if he will, but I think MCH wants out, especially since he is also going to executive produce on another Scott Buck show for Showtime...The American Dream Machine...but unless the possible spin off is a prequel, someone has to survive!

ReplyDeleteDexter and Hannah could wind up together but didn't she say in the promo she was married? One of them has to kill him.

ReplyDeleteDexter only liked to talk about his urge with Hannah. Apart from that Hannah is just an evil and boring person who cares about nobody.

ReplyDeleteI don't wanna be that guy, but it seems you just hate Hannah solely because she harms Dexter and Debra relationship and prevented Debster.
ReplyDeleteI care because Yvonne is one of the hottest females on the planet.
ReplyDeleteThen Hannah can have a hot scene with Saxon before Deb sends her to hell and everybody will be happy. In the extended version DVD they could also add a "Arthur Mitchell and Hannah in hell"-LoveScene for everybody who watchs Dexter just because of hot actors.

It's becoming clear Hannah will kill deb which will be a horrible ending
