    First I had to look up how to pronounce it (German here). Now that I know that, I wonder how maybe the title is referring to Kate as the new fighter in DC?

    A valkyrie is a norse mythology character who chooses which soldiers die in battle and then carries their souls to Odin... Or something like that.

    .......The word valkyrie derives from Old Norse valkyrja (plural valkyrjur), which is composed of two words; the noun valr (referring to the slain on the battlefield) and the verb kjósa (meaning "to choose"). Together, they mean "chooser of the slain" ......This is what Wikipedia says.. So Im guessing it must be Beckett choosing who go to Jail and who doesn't as in who is guilty or who is not. (Valkyre refers to female)

    The valkyries actually chose amongst the fallen soldiers which were heroes worthy to be taken to the Valhalla, where the gods lived. They were imortal creatures.
