Hello lovely people. First day on Arrow. My character VERY different from "Grace".

No idea who Grace is, for me Teryl Rothery will forever be the Stargate Doc. And I'm thrilled to see her on Arrow. Hope it's a juicy story arc she signed up for.
ReplyDeleteGrace is the perfect best friend on Cedar Cove, a librarian, nice, just got dumped by her husband. As little to do as she had on Stargate.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see who Teryl Rothery will be on Arrow.
To me she'll always be "Irene #1" (she was in the pilot episode of "So Weird" in 1999 but the role was recast)
ReplyDeleteDr. Frasier is back? Best news I've heard all month...I can't WAIT to see this.
ReplyDeleteI loved that show! Never saw it while it aired, but I caught up with it on YouTube. Amazing stuff. Jewel Staite had a guest role in that, as well, pre-Firefly.
ReplyDeleteIt was the show that inspired me to go to film school, it helped that Jon Cooksey (the exec producer of seasons 1 & 2) was nice when I discovered his e-mail, he even sent me the series bible so I would know where the Fiona storyline was headed before Disney fired them. Good memories. And I love Jewel's episode, she has a beautiful voice.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing!!! That show was a big source of inspiration to me as well - though in a literary sense rather than a film-making one.
ReplyDeleteSo...whereabouts was the Fiona storyline headed, anyway? I've only heard a few brief rumors. I know they were going to do something with Bricriu possessing her, and wasn't there going to be more development of the alien stuff as well?
Well the episode "Avatar" was a replacement for one called "Chrysalis", we would have seen/heard Rebecca in it, and learned that Molly is a former alcoholic and about her and Rick's marriage troubles and season 3 would have seen Molly meeting Rebecca again, and knowing who she was. Jack would have started having visions that Fi investigates and learns he's a reincarnated knight who agreed to be Fiona's brother to protect her. The aliens would have made contact and we'd find out there was someone like Fi on every planet, a magnet for the supernatural and they inform her "Evil" is taking over the whole universe. Oh and "Twin" originally ended with Rick being thrown off the roof and taken by the demon, so season 3 would deal with Fi worried about her father and scared to investigate weird things but finds she's unable to, and at the end of the season after the war was won, Fi would find a way into Hell and rescue her dad, and the powers would be would engineer him a new body. Also Molly and Fi both were supposed to learn more about their witch heritage, Fi would have been possessed by Bricriu and exorcised by Molly's never before seen brother, who's a priest, Jack would eventually be a believer, we were supposed to get more of Fi's aunts, and we would have learned more about Rick's investigations, and what he was doing the night he was killed in the car crash, apparently it was something big that proved for him that the world was in danger.
ReplyDeleteSounds epically amazing, to be honest it sounds extremely dark for a Disney series though, I am not surprised the showrunners were fired for the third season.
janet frasier! sad when she was killed off, one of the few times i cried watching tv. though how she went out was a very heroic way.
ReplyDeleteWOW. That is some really fantastic stuff; lots of brilliant concepts. I especially like how it would have tied together both the sci-fi and fantasy aspects of the show. However, I can completely understand that it wouldn't have worked for a Disney series, content-wise. It's a shame that Disney couldn't have allowed the program to move to a different, more appropriate network somehow - maybe ABC.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for answering my question! It's really fascinating to hear bout what might have been. A bit sad, I suppose, but still fun.
Woo hoo! Dr. Janet on Arrow. Best casting news yet. So glad to see her again. Here's hoping she's got a great character and that it stretches longer than 3-4 episodes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for enlightening me. In this case it's probably a good thing that her character on Aroow will be VERY different. I think she would make a fabulous villain, because she would be the last person the audience suspected.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! I know her... if it films in Vancouver she's been on it....
