Hell yeah! I thought for sure it would be another couple of weeks before we got a promo, but yes! Not only did we get one, but it's a super awesome one. At least as intriguing and creepy as the first ad last year, which I believe was the one called "Special Delivery". w00T here's hoping we get a poster by this time next week!
I keep reading people scared about AHS promos ever since the first season and they do nothing to me. Am I weird? I love the show, it just doesn't scare me. At all.
Apart from the creepiness, the excessive use of white intrigues since it represents pretty much everything that AHS isn't: purity, light, innocence, peace. I wonder if this is just for the teaser or if the white theme will be something that resurfaces in S3. Also, did anyone else notice the white cat at the beginning?
Yes, "white" is one of the reasons for AHS's being an original and different show ;) Apart from "black", which is the definitive color of "horror genre", "white" has never been used so efficiently in a thriller-horror series.
Except it's not really a new concept. The idea of black and white is simply a visual extension of the idea of contrasting opposites, good versus evil. I think what makes AHS so good is not it's originality but it has these classic concepts in the story and a visual interpretation that shows the white and the black tend to bleed into one another.
Actually, the way of interpretation of classical elements can also be counted as "idiosyncratic", so in a sense, this is also a way to be "original" IMO :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
when you see a teaser like this .. you know for sure it's AHS.....CREEPY AS ALWAYS !!

ReplyDeleteYes, but I recall people screaming and deeply disturbed by last years promos while I was sitting there like "Really? Is that all?" HAHA
