DAMN IT, CHLOE!
MARY LYNN RAJSKUB CLOCKS IN FOR “24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY”
DEBUTING SPRING 2014 ON FOX
“24” fan-favorite Mary Lynn Rajskub reunites with award-winning star Kiefer Sutherland when she returns to the storied franchise to reprise her iconic role as CHLOE O’BRIAN, CTU systems analyst and JACK BAUER’s (Sutherland) confidante, in the thrilling new tent-pole event series 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY premiering in spring 2014 on FOX.
Joining “24” in Season Three (2003), Rajskub clocked the series’ second-most episodes of any actor appearing in the series’ eight-season run from 2001-2010. Day after day, the always-awkward and intelligent O’Brian was Bauer’s CTU sidekick, as her tech mastery, unconventional tactics and know-it-all mentality proved critical in his heroic missions.
“I am thrilled to be working with Howard and the writers again – and, of course, Kiefer!,” said Rajskub. “There’s a lot more room to grow in my character…I’m going to start sharpening my computer skills now!”
24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY restarts the groundbreaking and Emmy Award-winning drama franchise. The suspenseful event series will follow the further exploits of heroic agent JACK BAUER, taking up his story several years after the events of the final season. Once again, viewers will join Jack on a pulse-pounding ride in real time.
Rajskub, a highly prolific actress and comedian, has appeared in films such as “Firewall,” “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Punch Drunk Love,” “Dude, Where’s My Car?,” “Storytelling” and “Road Trip.”
24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY is a production of Teakwood Lane Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television. Howard Gordon, Evan Katz, Manny Coto, David Fury, Robert Cochran, Brian Grazer, Jon Cassar and Kiefer Sutherland will executive-produce. The original series, which had its last American broadcast on May 24, 2010, was created by Joel Surnow and Cochran.

Yes!!!!!!!! It just would not have been the same without her!
ReplyDeleteHELL YES!!! Now I'm really excited for the show to return.
ReplyDeleteYAYAYAYAYAYAYAAYAY
ReplyDeleteDitto!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNot really that excited by this. The way to really incite some genuine excitement is by announcing the return of Carlos Bernard! VIVA TONY ALMEIDA!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! Finally! 24: Live Another Day will be simply fantastic now! :D
ReplyDeleteGood news!
ReplyDeleteI hope they bring back Cole Ortiz as well. :)
I am with you on not being that excited.Tony returning would be great idea if they could figure out a way to use him with how the events of day 7 went.
ReplyDeleteAwesome news! It wouldn't have been the same without her! I wouldn't mind hearing some others returning either (Tony, Cole), but Chloe was a must.
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm really glad to hear this.
ReplyDeleteActually, Secret Service Agent AARON PIERCE holds the record of most episodes behind Bauer, his last season was the 7th.
ReplyDeleteUm...
ReplyDeleteI am facepalming in my mind when she says "I’m going to start sharpening my computer skills now!", even if it's a joke - because the season's not written yet. C'mon, so much for originality...
I'm also profoundly dubious when she says there's room to grow for this character... seriously, she's always been the same from start to finish, and from what she says next about the computer it doesn't look like it's gonna change. Tony evolved, Palmer evolved, Logan, Taylor, Kim, etc., and of course Jack evolved a lot but Chloe, not really.
It's not that I don't like Chloe, I just don't like what she stands for :
- The comic relief, frowning, sighing, pouting, acting annoyed. I like my coffee black with no sugar, that's the same with my drama series, I want no sugar coating, which Chloe is.
- With Chloe, it means no difficulties for Jack to get anywhere he wants, have access to resources to help him find out what he needs to know. It's just too easy. That's for when Jack goes against the rules of course, which is often.
Now, if Chloe is back not as a way for the writers to keep Jack moving but truly as Jack's friend, then I'm okay with this. If she's not behind her computer feeding info to Jack 90% of the time, ythen I'm glad she's back.
Bottom line is, if Chloe is not just the embodiment of the easy solution for the writers to keep Jack/the action going, then I'm thrilled she's back. But if she's behind her computer all the time, that would suck.
I believe most times, she did the frowning and pouting because she was forced to do stuff she didn't feel comfortable with - often breaking the law. I would probably be frowny too if all shit imaginable happened in 24 hours and I was breaking somewhat ever federal (and some domestic) law there is. However, I find it great if she works behind a computer in 24: Live Another Day. I like how she speeds up the process. If Jack was to do everything on his own, I can imagine things taking much longer.
ReplyDeleteGreat news.
ReplyDeleteNow do the same with Aaron Pierce, pleaaasee!
ReplyDeleteOf course! The second hero of the show! It was a travesty he wasn't in Season 8 since he had been in every season before. That'd be awesome to bring him back.
ReplyDeleteNow all we need is trusty Tony, and Aaron and we'll be set!
ReplyDeleteI don't even watch or care about 24 and I would have been disappointed if she didn't come back...
ReplyDeleteThis was essential. Chloe really became such a huge and endearing part of the show.
ReplyDeleteHoly Mother Fucckeeeer! Ooops sorry guys, i'm just as excited as everybody else here :)
