Thanks to Boris for the heads up.

Wanted and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter director Timur Bekmambetov is venturing into television with Warriors Of Oz, a mini-series project which has landed at Syfy. Bekmambetov will create Warriors Of Oz based on his idea. It is a fantasy-action reimagining of the classic story in which a warrior from present day Earth is transported to a post-apocalyptic future Oz where he must team up with three other warriors, Heartless, Brainless, and Coward, in order to defeat the evil Wizard who has enslaved the land.

  1. Uuuuuuhhhhh, ok then. I really don't think it's needed or even sounds that interesting.

  2. While I love the Wizard of Oz, this sounds kinda dumb. I did enjoy Wanted and I have like several SyFy series, but I will probably wait for someone (or several someones) to give it a glowing recommendation.

  3. SyFy already tried Tin Man and that didn't go well. Plus I'm annoyed that an American classic that has a girl as the heroine, a strong woman as the villain, 2 female witches (in the book, 1 in the movie) that are powerful and help Dorothy has suddenly become a male military fantasy with no apparent female characters whatsoever. I mean really?

  5. Seriously guys? It's Timur Bekmambetov, he knows good fantasy! I can't wait for this, Syfy is finally beginning to look like it's supposed to look.

  6. The obsession with Wonderland, Neverland and Oz needs to stop. They aren't even genuine portrayals at this point, they're only using carbon copies of the Cliff's Notes versions that have smudges over all the important bits.

  7. Oh, whoa! Really? *crinkles nose*
