Haven hands down. I like/love all of these, except defiance which no ,matter how hard I try I can't get into, but Haven is the one I obsess over the most be it the overall mythology or just Nathan/Audrey.
It's okay! I did realize after I published the poll that I was being too harsh and should have changed the number to pick from 1 to 2 or 3. This was my first User Submitted Poll that I submitted so I won't be too mean next time. XD
I agree. It was a hard choice. I ended up choosing Eureka, but I also loved SG-1. I enjoyed quite a few of the other Syfy shows since SG-1 first brought me to SyFy. I thought the new Battlestar Galactica was brilliant. I haven't seen Haven yet, but it intrigues me. When I have more time, I'd like to see Haven.
I ultimately voted for Warehouse 13 because the last season is coming and that wound is still fresh. However, I LOVE Defiance, Haven, Eureka, Continuum, Primeval: New World, every Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, Caprica and Sanctuary.
BG was brilliant! And if you liked that so much you might want to check out Farscape, another brilliant show with lots of heart! Great characters, great aliens and the storytelling is wild! I'm crazy about that show and its one of my favorites.Guess i have quite a few favorite syfy shows that i hold near and dear of me!
Ya! He created Farscape,Cult, The Triangle, Seaquest, Alien Nation and of course Defiance.
Farscape could be a little out there, but i loved that show. That's another show i mourned over when it was canceled. But they did have a 4 hour mini series to wrap it up...Its so worth checking out!
I'm forced to agree with you about the single choose, though I prefer the multiple selection. Might I add you have excellent taste in SyFy shows - Lost Girl, Continuum, Sinbad, and Merlin (I miss this one). 4 A SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE, I am Nobody!!!
Syfy will have a Sinbad marathon on Aug.3, including 5 new episodes. They will be doing the same thing with Primeval: New World on Aug.10, but 6 new episodes. Neither show will air this Saturday.
Guess where I'll be Aug.3.................the SyFy Sinbad Marathon thanks to you (Baff)! Really looking forward to this, thanks. 4 A SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE, I remain Nobody!!!
Of the listed shows currently on or recently ended: 1) Haven... looking forward to S4. 2) Eureka. Next BH, last W13 (can't stand one character but the rest of them are good). I was never a fan of Alphas. I also like Face-Off and quite surprisingly, Robot Combat League.
ROBOT COMBAT LEAGUE, I thought I was the only fan! My fingers are crossed for a season 2, Team SCORPIO all the way! 4 A SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE, I am Nobody!!!
I think you do another one with past SciFi shows and then be incredibly cruel and only let people pick one choice. Oh the agonies that would come with that poll. Congrats on your first one though.
If there is another poll with past SciFi shows on it, I am going to have a really hard time choosing between SG-1, which was a family affair at my house, and Farscape, another sci-fi classic. Both shows bring back great memories.
Thanks for the suggestion laura! I did catch quite a few episodes of Farscape, b/c I was intrigued by so many scifi fans loving it, and I wanted to give it a chance. I tend to like a lot of scifi shows, but Farscape was just too weird for me to like. I hated the whole psychological aspect of the evil scorpion-like dude in Crichton's mind thing. It felt like watching a show through the mind of a crazy person, which I didn't find as enjoyable or entertaining as a lot of other odd? (don't know how to describe these) scifi stuff, including Babylon 5, Seaquest, Earth 2, Mutant X, Defiance, etc.
SG-1 was more of a family affair at my house than most other Syfy shows. As for "scifi" genre shows, my family has only ever wanted to see some Star Trek:TNG, or SG-1, or Eureka with me. All the other scifi stuff I've tried watching was too weird for them. The Syfy channel is not a regular channel that we watch at my house though, so I'm lucky if I can get them to watch more than one episode. Your family seems more progressive than mine in regards to scifi shows.
I can understand where your coming from. There are shows that people rave about yet i can't fathom why! I watch a few more episodes waiting for that aha moment that sometimes just doesn't come..It happens,at least you gave it a chance. :)
Loved Bab5. I also wish they announce a remake is in the works, the makeup and effects would be amazing now!
We actually don't much TV at all together anymore. However when I was younger, my dad's favorite genre was sci fi so as kids we would watch more of that. My kiddos usually don't get into sci fi either.
That's great that your dad introduced you to the genre. I think it's good to teach kids to be more open-minded. If I had kids, I'd like to get them to watch Star Trek: TNG, since that was my first ever scifi show, and I still love it. Then again, I couldn't really get more than one sibling to at least appreciate Star Trek. So I don't know how successful I'd be with future kids in that aspect.
Star Trek: TNG was one of my early favorites for sci-fi. I never got into any of the other Star Trek versions though. I can rarely get anyone into the shows I watch either. It's hard to sell people on fantasy and sci fi. Farscape is probably the most successful I've been and Sliders.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Face Off.
ReplyDeleteTough one. I like Haven but I had to choose Warehouse 13.
ReplyDeletehard to choose love Eureka and Haven !!!! Defiance i was expecting more ...
ReplyDeletewarehouse 13, haven, being human and eureka.
ReplyDeleteFor me Being Human is the only watchable SyFy show. :)
ReplyDeleteLost Girl for sure, though I also like Merlin, Primeval, Continuum and Sinbad.
ReplyDeleteNope, sorry Patriotfall, cannot pick just one,so here goes and in no particular order: Eureka, WH13, Stargate SG1, BG and Haven.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised the one I voted for is way ahead..love Haven, but figured Being Human would be first.
ReplyDeleteHaven hands down. I like/love all of these, except defiance which no ,matter how hard I try I can't get into, but Haven is the one I obsess over the most be it the overall mythology or just Nathan/Audrey.
ReplyDeleteHaven! Season 3 was just amazing! also love Defiance
ReplyDeleteBattlestar Galactica and no other.
ReplyDeleteI put Alphas. But if Lost Girl had been on the list, I would have picked that.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay! I did realize after I published the poll that I was being too harsh and should have changed the number to pick from 1 to 2 or 3. This was my first User Submitted Poll that I submitted so I won't be too mean next time. XD
ReplyDeletei love warehouse 13 but i just had to choose eureka.
ReplyDeleteIt's really hard to choose between Eureka, Haven, Warehouse 13, and Defiance.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with Eureka, though.
Haven.
ReplyDeleteMake mine Face - Off, Continuum, and Lost Girl................RIP Alphas (sad). 4 A SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE, I am Nobody!!!
ReplyDeleteOther:
ReplyDeleteBattlestar Galactica [re-imaged]
Caprica
Haven... it's the only show of those listed I stuck with. Have tried all the others and given up on them at some point or another.
ReplyDeleteMerlin!
ReplyDeleteEUREKA! I love the other ones but Eureka is my all-time favorite SyFy (SciFi) show to date.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to SyFy shows i always have a hard time picking just one! But in the end i voted for Eureka, then felt guilty,ha! ;)
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel when it comes to your very first poll. Welcome to the club and try to enjoy! 4 A SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE, I am Nobody!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry? Where is FRINGE? Cause that is mine and always will be.
ReplyDeleteI've to go with Being Human since Lost Girl isn't on the list (only if i voted other) and i can only choose one show.
ReplyDeleteWarehouse 13 and Being Human.
ReplyDeleteBeing Human and Warehouse 13 for me.
ReplyDeleteOh I misunderstood, sorry. I thought it was scifi show, not channel. My bad.
ReplyDeleteContinuum and a close second: Lost Girl
ReplyDeleteMy statement stands though and will not change :)
ReplyDeletejust as Robin responded I'm stunned that people can make $6834 in 4 weeks on the internet. have you seen this site KEP2.com
ReplyDeleteHaven, but Eureka came in a close second.
ReplyDeleteCan I choose 3, or 4? ;)
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't choose between Haven, Eureka and W13. And then there's also, Alphas and Defiance.
This was a tough one. I loved Haven, Warehouse 13, and Eureka. I chose Warehouse because of the unusual story lines added with History.
ReplyDeletewell Alphas is no longer ... :( but off this list I really enjoy Being Human the most, Defiance has a lot of potential but the writing has been uneven
ReplyDeleteJust one choice? It's so hard! ;) My favorites were Stargate SG-1 and Eureka. SG-1 was what first got me to watch anything on Syfy.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It was a hard choice. I ended up choosing Eureka, but I also loved SG-1. I enjoyed quite a
ReplyDeletefew of the other Syfy shows since SG-1 first brought me to SyFy. I thought the new Battlestar Galactica was brilliant. I haven't seen Haven yet, but it intrigues me. When I have more time, I'd like to see Haven.
It is better if you only allow people to choose 1, since the results are displayed incorrectly when people are allowed to chose more than 1.
ReplyDeleteHaven. Great show
ReplyDeleteHaven! Closely followed by Face Off.
ReplyDeleteHaven! Nathan and Audrey are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI ultimately voted for Warehouse 13 because the last season is coming and that wound is still fresh. However, I LOVE Defiance, Haven, Eureka, Continuum, Primeval: New World, every Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, Caprica and Sanctuary.
ReplyDeleteHAVEN

ReplyDeleteHaven and Eureka!
ReplyDeleteVery hard to choose. I love and watch nearly all the shows on Syfy. I went with Eureka though, closley followed by Alphas, Wh13 and Being Human.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I always hear goof things about it...and some of those peeps made Defiance, right? -I haven't seen that either!
ReplyDeleteEasily Warehouse 13.
ReplyDeleteYa! He created Farscape,Cult, The Triangle, Seaquest, Alien Nation and of course Defiance.
ReplyDeleteFarscape could be a little out there, but i loved that show. That's another show i mourned over when it was canceled. But they did have a 4 hour mini series to wrap it up...Its so worth checking out!

ReplyDeleteWarehouse 13.I can't believe they cancel it.
ReplyDeleteEureka. But it's actually a tie that included Warehouse 13 and Haven
ReplyDeleteHaven! How in the hell could anyone vote for another show?!
ReplyDeleteTook me a while to figure it out myself...
ReplyDeleteWarehouse 13 all the way! BUT of older, no longer on air shows that Syfy/SciFi aired, FARSCAPE!
ReplyDeleteHAVEN <3 <3
ReplyDeleteOf the listed shows currently on or recently ended: 1) Haven... looking forward to S4. 2) Eureka. Next BH, last W13 (can't stand one character but the rest of them are good). I was never a fan of Alphas.

Farscape. Haven. Farscape. No. Haven.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Haven.
ReplyDeleteROBOT COMBAT LEAGUE, I thought I was the only fan! My fingers are crossed for a season 2, Team SCORPIO all the way! 4 A SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE, I am Nobody!!!
ReplyDeleteHaunted Collector
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking Defiance but Warehouse 13 is still my favorite right now. I do miss the SciFi heyday of Stargate SG-1 though.
ReplyDeleteI think you do another one with past SciFi shows and then be incredibly cruel and only let people pick one choice. Oh the agonies that would come with that poll. Congrats on your first one though.
ReplyDeleteI have just recently learned about Primeval. Well Primeval New World. I am looking forward to seeing how the original fared.
ReplyDeleteI think it's better to only allow people to pick on because you get better conversation and more comments usually that way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up. I am really liking P:NW. Sorry to hear that it was cancelled.
ReplyDeleteIf there is another poll with past SciFi shows on it, I am going to have a really hard time choosing between SG-1, which was a family affair at my house, and Farscape, another sci-fi classic. Both shows bring back great memories.
ReplyDeleteHaven number 1 for sure. but Alphas comes in second for me, I really enjoyed the show to bad it didn't last. I am also a huge Farscape fan
