  1. Hopefully the decision Alcide makes that affects Nicole and Sam is how he commits murder-suicide. Because DAMN these wolf/shifter stories are terrible these past few seasons and just drag the show down now.

  2. Well, I wasn't going to be that blunt about it but... yes. Basically, what you said.

  3. I would have been more diplomatic at the beginning of the season but we're six episodes in and the storyline has added absolutely nothing. They're not even in the same hemisphere of the rest of the story.

  4. We're in complete agreement and someone needs to tell the new True Blood showrunner that throwing in copious amounts of nudity aren't going to make werewolves any more interesting either. Lastly, let me just say that True Blood has completely wasted Robert Patrick in a useless role.

  5. I could tolerate to a point, but ya, this season is where I have to draw the line. It has been the worst. (And you know, me, I'm usually not that critical!!)

  6. They're just such boring characters, because they all end up having the same plot and the same personalities. -I mean I would of much rather seen a war between different "wares", than this wolf mud wrestling that just never ends. T

And just having Sam give Emma to Martha seemed so incredibly counter productive.

  7. I love Sam but this season has been so boring for him. (I never liked Alcide.) The writers should either step up on the shifter front or do as you suggested.

  8. Alcide was at least a mildly interesting character when he wasn't a member of any pack. Since he stopped being a "lone wolf" he has become just as dull as the rest of his kind.

"And just having Sam give Emma to Martha seemed so incredibly counter productive."

Almost every Sam subplot since season two has been counterproductive.

  9. I'm pretty sure the new showrunner is just wasting time until he can be done with them for next season.

  10. He replaced showrunner #2 quite early into the production of this season so there could be some truth to that.

  11. Yeah, it just feels completely random. I'm all for ensemble drama but on no level do I feel like the wolf/shifter stuff and the vampire stuff are strands of the same story any more. They don't feel like they're coming together and they don't feel like they're riffs on the same theme. It just feels like wasting time when there are more compelling stories going on elsewhere. I like Alcide in principal but if they can't make him relevant he has to go no matter how great the actor is or how ripped his chest is.

I like Robert Patrick's addittion to the cast, but even his prescence can prevent Alcide's story from feeling dull and stale. They need to merge the wolves' storylines with the vampires'.

    I meant "can't"

  14. Agreed. After his intro in the book series, Alcide seemed to pop up whenever he needed Sookie's help or she had to ask some favor of him because he owed her for helping him or something. Keeping him as a main character is killing him. Dial it back a bit. And were stuff's never been that interesting on the show or in the books.

  15. The weres and shifters band together to destroy the vamp camps and create supe solidarity! Season seven ... peace among the supe kind and humans sit around gobsmacked.

The shifter and were story lines is not that bad, I think they can be doing something different to make their characters on the show useful.

    Didn't Nicole get bitten?
