So he gained his powers when he was 12, then ULTRA found him, and took him in. Jack helped him espace a few years after that.

  2. I do wonder if John is also related to Mark Pellegrino's character.
I mean yeah, all the resentment could come from being hunted down and put through the ringer since he was 12 by this guy, and if they are related it's all to convoluted, but I dunno... that scene of theirs I've seen in the trailers makes me believe there's more there.

That's actually the first thing that crossed my mind (I'd love it to be true), but then I watched a few interviews with Greg Berlanti from SDCC and I started to have doubts. It seems like the writers are reaaaally going to focus on Stephen's relationship with Jedikiah (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrWTYaxABck), and if they gave this storyline to Luke Mitchell, it could eventually become something that's more about John than the main character. Unless they turned it into an argument John could use against Jedikiah to get Stephen on his side.

But if it was true, then they could take it in so many different directions. John choosing Jack over Jedikiah, the reason why Jack and Jedikiah got in a fight..
