    If they continue to play up the war and mystery aspects of the show and dial down the relationship drama to well below TVD levels then this show will be alright.

    no new footage. some comic con trailer. even the scene with the new witch was included in a trailer about a month or so ago.

    I don't remember seeing (hearing?) Elijah's mention of the ancestral magic. But everything else, I've seen before.

    I agree that the war, mystery, and mythology aspects are exciting. But I also like the relationships within the Original family (In fact, I hope that the writers figure out an intelligent way to bring back Kol because it's fun to see how his psychotic energy affects the family dynamic.) That being said, I hope that this show doesn't use the soap opera-like love-triangle drama of TVD. Don't get me wrong, I love TVD but I think every character has slept with, killed, or slept with and killed every other character. The biggest draw with this show for me? Elijah. I could watch a 60-minute monologue from Elijah.

    I'm gonna check it out because I've been wanting for more major witches to appear TVD for years now which never happened and it looks like there gonna be plenty of them in this show.
