After 3 amazing episodes, The Bridge returns this Wednesday for another hour of great television. Unfortunately the early screening that I watched was missing subtitles and I do not speak Spanish so those scenes will be open to my interpretation. The only way for you all to know if I'm as good as I hope I am is to watch the show.
In the last episode, we saw a major change in the story when Marco decided to go back to Charlotte's house and spend the night. Marco's betrayal of his wife quite shocked me last episode. Before that, Marco appeared to be a model father and husband, but it appears he is not as perfect as we may have believed. As was sure to happen, Marco's indiscretions come back to bite both him and Charlotte in the ass. Considering how mad Sonya was when Marco let Charlotte pass across the bridge, I can't imagine how pissed she would be to know what he's doing with her now.
On an other end of the love triangle, Charlotte is unsure what to do about that horse that she found at the end of the last episode. She spends a lot of time talking with the ranch foreman that was in on the tunnel business that her husband had been running before his untimely passing. It's clear that she doesn't want to have to deal with any of it, but simply isn't sure if the solution to that is to close off the tunnel. It may be more trouble closing it, than just letting it be.
Sonya, meanwhile, is obsessed (as a good cop like her should be) with finding the girl left over from the poisonings, that is trapped in the desert. She is working one of two angles that the police are working in order to save the girl. The other strategy involved the ransom that is being demanded. Sonya is adamant that the killer is not in the least bit interested in the ransom (something that I would agree with considering his set MO) but the police aren't willing to take a chance and try to get the money. This is a case where the bureaucracy of the FBI turns out to be less efficient than what Marco is able to come up with. This scene was in Spanish so I don't know what Marco said to the men he talked to, but it was pretty clear what was occurring.
The last part of my preview will be very short, but a huge tease. Marco meets him... and that's all I'll say. Oh and on a separate note, Frye continues to be a bit of a prick.
Rating: 9.4/10
