Zoila | This episode really showed that Zoila and Genevieve truly consider each other family. It was funny watching Gen being oblivious to the gravity of her situation. Refusing to get a job like the rest of us, she payed one of her many ex-husbands a visit who casually reminded her with how many of her friends he slept with, Stephen Collins line delivery was just hilarious. He made her an offer which she only accepted after Zoila talked about all the things Gen had to do if she remained poor. My favorite scene of the whole episode was Gen returning the ring to Zoila, telling her that she is the only person who truly stuck around no matter what. Also, we got a glimpse of Remi doing drugs which I'm not really too interested in.
Carmen | She was in serious denial this week. She turned Sam down so she has no right to get upset unless, of course, she had feelings for him which she doesn't because she turned him down, right? Her jealousy even runs so deep that she told Alejandro about what Sam has been up to. It was just hilarious watching Carmen let that dog roll around in Sam's knowing his new fling will get an allergic reaction. Sam confronting her about it seemed enough to make her realize that she does indeed have feelings for him.
Rosie | Spence and her were getting their freak on, repeatedly which ultimately reasulted in Spence suffering from a heart attack. Peri actually showed concern towards another human being. Not only that, she vowed to go to therapy to change, much to Rosie's dismay. I never liked Peri and as much as I love for Rosie & Spence to be together, Peri is still his wife and she is aware of her mistakes and is trying to better herself. Love triangle alert.
Marisol | So after Eddie tells his mother about the DVDs, she immediately goes to the Powell residence to go looking for them. She should have hidden that CD somewhere in her clothing instead of putting it in that book. When she came back for it, it was gone of course, as Evelyn warned Adrian about her. I still don't know what to make of this married couple. They care about each other in such a twisted way it's uncanny. After Marisol tells her employers about her discovery, a fight between Michael and Adrian & Evelyn being a badass with a bat, the Stappords got their DVDs back and Michael turns out to be another suspect in Flora's murder.
This show is really heating up, and I love every moment of it! Fantastic scenes, I love the characters, and the fact that we still have many episodes to go just brings a huge smile to my face!
Then it would take a nosedive, because Cherry wouldn't know how to fill all the 20 + episodes properly (like he did with Desperate) and we'd grow tired of it! The fewer episodes, the more jam-packed, the better!
That's true in some occasions but I think he did really good with DH. Or maybe to address the possibility of boredom issue, perhaps he could write two mysteries in one season instead of one. Like one mystery is resolved in Dec and the second mystery is resolved in May.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Another fun episode of Devious Maids.

ReplyDeleteAfter this episode, I really really wish that Devious Maids gets a full 22-episode season that starts in Fall.
