Two of Parks and Recreation's regulars are exiting the series.

Rob Lowe, who joined in season two, and Rashida Jones, a core player since its inception, will depart NBC's returning fall comedy in the middle of the upcoming sixth season, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. Lowe and Jones are expected to leave Parks and Recreation — which was picked up for a full season — following the 13th episode.

    Goddammit, these are two of my favorites characters/actors. As if Donald Glover leaving Community after episode 5.05 wasn't enough, the only other NBC comedy is getting trimmed too. For shame.

    I would prefer it if Andy and April were to depart, not Chris and Ann Perkins! Can't imagine Leslie without Ann, or all those moments where Chris' constant good mood collides with Ron's Swansoness.

    This probably has to do with budget cuts so that the show has a chance to last a little longer. Rob Lowe's salary is probably a lot higher than many other cast members, and Rashida Jones has second billing but her character was always a little expendable and was often criticized for not adding much to the show.

    No sweet beautiful naive baby Ann Perkins?!?!! Despite her haters Ann is an essential part of Parks, her friendship with Leslie has always been one of the very best aspects of the show. Boooooooooooooo!!!! And fuck fuck fuckity fuck!

    No, why, why, why;///// I'm very sad now. So this is mean that the end is near??? But as long as in the show stay Ron Swanson, April and Andy I will watch. In the other hand I will be miss Leslie/Ann friendship. Chris can go, I like him, but I won't be miss him, but Ann, seriously ??? Hope that Ann and Chris get a happy ending.

    this truly sucks....... Rob leaving isn't as big of a surprise because of his stature but I've really enjoyed what his character brought the show, and the beautiful, sweet, naive butterfly that is Anne Perkins/Rashida is a huge shot to my poor tv heart..... just speculating that with the baby storyline that they started last season will probably lead to a marriage/new job relocation..... but I wonder if Ron will have to fill in for Chris when they leave... (he would hate that... lol)

    That really sucks, I enjoy both of their characters. Hopefully they get a good send off. I seem to recall that this season may potentially be the final one, so if that's the case, this won't hurt as bad come the 2nd half of the season.

    Nooo! Even though Ann has never been the breakout character of the show it'll be too weird not to have her around. I mean, she's Lesly's right hand! And Chris is usually so hilarious! Will miss them both :(

    Exactly, Ann is Leslie's best friend and definitely adds plenty to the show. I don't mind Rob Lowe leaving, but Rashida can't leave too! :(
