One of these 2 will be used as the official Poster.

  1. I like the second one better.

  2. Look bad, I will not watch it, OUAT is the best

  3. I like the rabbit poster, not such a big fan of the swooning poster. If there's one thing I love about the flagship OUAT, it's that the women in that show aren't so much with the swooning. Alice didn't seem like that much of a swooner in the trailer, so I'm hoping this is just a bad marketing decision. I have no interest in watching a show staring a constant damsel-in-distress.

  4. Exactly. I think the first one gives a wrong impression about Alice's character.

  5. So should they go with poster A or poster S? ;)

  6. the second one is 100 times better first one is too cheesy

  7. The first one looks like the cover of Harlequin romance novel...

  8. Neither of these posters do much for me. I would rather see them focus on the Wonderland aspect and less the romance. Still I want to like this show so it will get 3 episodes to hook me. Hopefully it will.

  9. Agreed. Alice has all the makings of a strong, kick butt female and neither of these posters show that. Here's hoping the trailer is more correct about the show than the poster is.

  10. I really don't care for either one,but if that's what were stuck with then the second poster.

  11. I do tend to trust the trailer more than the posters (it's got actual show footage, after all), and while the rabbit poster doesn't show Alice off as awesome as I hope she'll be, I don't blame them for playing up the romance a little. It's the kind of thing that draws people in; so long as they're going for a "draw them in with the love stuff, keep them for the adventure, a pretty new world and interesting characters," I can't say as I mind much. And this way is even kind of clever, showing them two of them as sort of a doorway from our world into Wonderland - he's the Wonderlandian (?), she's the Earthling, and together they bridge the magical gap. It's kind of a fun concept.

The problem with the first poster is that it doesn't just hint at the romance. It beats you over the head with romance, and a particularly unsavory kind at that; one that - as nerwen_aldarion pointed out - belongs on the covers of Harlequin romance novels, and very little else. It points to Alice not just being in love, but being the sort of in love that requires her beloved to constantly come to her rescue, and makes her all giggly and generally useless. I think we all agree how boring that sounds. But again, the trailer doesn't make her seem that way, so I think (hope) it's just bad marketing. But it really shouldn't be the poster they use.

  12. If the main story line is Alice trying to find and free her lost love, shouldn't most of the romance take place in flash backs? That's the impression I am getting so I hope that the actual time we see romance on screen is very limited while we get a huge action romp through an intriguing land with even more amazing creatures. I like the idea as romance being the starting off point but becoming far more of an adventure in the actual plot of the show.

  13. What I like about their cast with Sophie Lowe is the ability that she is both. She retains a gentile femininity, while also being able to kick a** and take risks. This way her Victorian upbringing is still an influence and believable.

  14. Like them! The second one is better though. Personally I think this Alice is going to be very well rounded, which I'm looking forward too!

  15. I think more than [the current] OUAT, Romance is more of a driving factor here. It will be interesting to me to see if "true love" retains it's strongest magic of all mantra here and how will this romance compare with Snow's and Charming's?

  16. Based on the trailer the romance is obviously going to be a big part of it, but unlike most TV romances I am already intrigued by this one, I think it's the actors. As long as they don't make it *too* cheesy and don't take up *too* much time with it they can still deal with it frequently without it ruining the show, at least in my opinion. But the trailer looked kinda trippy and I hope the series will showcase lots of Wonderland weirdness.

  17. That will be a shame to me. I love the idea of a kick butt Alice storming Wonderland. I would like romance to be her motivation but not the foundation of the show. I stopped watching OUaT mid-season 1 but I wasn't really a fan of Snow and Charming even then. Basically I watched it as long as I did because I liked the premise and Regina and Rumple were awesome characters. Hated Emma and Henry with a passion.

  18. "Wonderland weirdness" and a kick butt protagonist are the main reasons I will be checking this out. However, if the romance overshadows the action, I will be out relatively quickly. I really want to like this show just like I really wanted to like OUaT, given that I love fractured fairy tales. I guess the good news for me is that if it does turn out to be all about the romance, it is only a season long and it sounds like if this concept does well we could see other spin-offs as well that could be more action-oriented. Still hoping this one is a fun adventure though.

  19. As I said above to someone else, I think she'll be both (A kick butter and a swooner). I think it would be unjust to L.C. to not retain some Victorian aspects to Alice, but also allow her to be adventitious. I just think she'll be more like Snow, then she'll be like Emma (personality wise/aesthetically). And it's her love for Cyrus that will allow her to evolve a little further.

  20. Fair enough, but she's not just being sweet and proper and wearing pretty dresses. She is draped over the guy, letting him support her weight entirely, giving him some serious moon eyes ... she's so mesmerized and/or helpless, she apparently can't even hold her own head up without him. I don't need her to be Alice the Butt Kicking Warrior Girl Who Never Needs No Man, but this particular image is way too over the top. Seriously, can't she at least hold her own head up?

  21. Agreed, although HIMYM has taught us that flashbacks can be frequent and extensive; if he's big enough in the series to be featured in the marketing, my guess is there's either a lot flashbacks throughout or he gets rescued at some point. I guess, though, that I don't mind the romance - I even enjoy it, if it's done well - but I'd also rather the adventure be the main plot.

  22. It might be that in the past Alice relied on Cyrus, but now she might have to rely more on herself. I'm not saying it isn't over the top, but I think a handsome genie, would be the type to sweep a girl off her feet.

  23. This made me LOL. XD

  24. I personally hope they choose the one on the right to be the official poster. :)

  25. I prefer to say with the original OUAT

  26. It's essentially the same thing as OUAT. It's the same writers and producers, just another set of characters.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I know but its not look like the original OUAT

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think they should go with both. not only one, even though I liked the second better

  29. A little too cartoon!Harlequin-y for my taste, but they're 'kay.... I guess....
