CW president Mark Pedowitz confirmed the news
today at the networks executive panel during the
Television Critics Association press tour in Los
Angeles. “We plan to introduce a recurring
character and the origin story of Dr. Barry Allen,
who you know as the Flash,” he said. “We do
want to expand upon the DC Universe. We think
that there are rich characters we can use, and
we felt like this was a very organic way to get
there.”
Pedowitz added during a smaller meeting with reporters that the show is just beginning the casting process, but they’re not necessarily looking for a well-known star. “I’m from the old school — TV creates stars. If we get a name, great. If we don’t get a name, they’ll become a name,” he said.
The character is set to first appear this fall and again in 2014. ”If you don’t feel the chemistry, it doesn’t happen,” Pedowitz said of a possible spin-off.

I'm actually interested in seeing a Flash TV show... I have faith in Greg Berlanti.
ReplyDeletewait i dont get it, they are gonna introduce Dr. Allen who`s supossedd to be Flash on Arrow rigth¿? and if the audience took him well they are going to make the tv show¿?
ReplyDeleteYup. They are going to start the casting process for Barry Allen this week.
ReplyDeleteoh thanks for clearing that up.... would be interesting, like i said before im already seeing crossovers episodes between the two series like Shonda did with Grey`s and PP
ReplyDeleteThey are going ot have to drop their no super powers rule on arrow then.
ReplyDelete”If you don’t feel the chemistry, it doesn’t happen,”
ReplyDeleteThen how the hell did Katie Cassidy get cast?
BAZINGA!
Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all night.
Maybe not. Maybe Barry is just a scientist on Arrow and has his accident on his own show.
ReplyDeleteShe got cast before seeing the series. So, there's that.
ReplyDelete"I have faith in Greg Berlanti"
ReplyDeleteMe too.... I honestly can't think of one thing he's done that I haven't liked.
From the more popular DC heroes (taking out Batman/Bruce) I guess he is the one that would best fir the "no super-powers" world of Arrow.
ReplyDeleteI mean genetic enhancement experiments are real, so him obtaining super speed can be explained from a purely scientific perspective if need be (as is the case with the Flash anyway, if I'm not mistaken... I'm rusty on my Flash lore, forgive me)
