Justin Long will guest-star on the Chuck
Lorre’s latest sitcom as Faris’ recovering
alcoholic’s “first shot at a meaningful
relationship,” it was announced Monday at
the Television Critics Assoc. summer press
tour. “Poor bastard doesn’t know what he’s
in for,” Lorre added.
Also lined up to guest-star on Mom is Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer , playing a woman “who has bigger problems than [Faris'] Christy,” who in addition to licking the liquor is dealing with a tempestuous teen daughter and a recently resurfaced substance-abusing mother (played by The West Wing ‘s Allison Janney). Upon meeting Spencer’s character during the worst part of a horrible, bad day, Lorre said, “Christy gets perspective.”

Allison Janney means I have to check this out. Justin Long is a plus too. I wonder though if Lorre was talking about the character not knowing what he's in for with Christy or the actor having to work with Lorre.
ReplyDeleteTwo more aces in the casting department for this show (and if they're getting this kind of actors as guest stars I really can't see this show not going places).
ReplyDeleteI'm still not 100% on board with the whole thing, but I do think it will fit in nicely on CBS.
Octavia and Allison on screen together? It is humanly impossible for this to be bad. Even if it is, it will still be good.
