He wants to leave Miami because he thinks it is the best for Deb but he will not because of Vogel's son Saxon. At least there will be a lot of twists in the last three episodes

  3. Saxon is Vogal's son!?!! I got it right! I knew it would have to a blood relative to parallel season 1!

  4. Hmmm interesting title, especially since we know people always say they're leaving Miami (Lumen, Hannah and now possibly Dex) and well, because of the Finale photos! ;)

  5. At least it's not, Goodbye, Dexter Morgan. ;)

  6. No, that's the finale :)

  7. It would surprise me if Dexter actually left Miami.

  8. That really would be an epic title for the final episode!

  9. It actually is way better than our finale title, isn't it?!

I like the final episode title, even though they could have done better.

  11. I don' think there's anything wrong with it. It sounds like a Dexter title, but it doesn't really convey epicness, unless of course we see new footage of old characters back on our screens! :)

I don't know, after last season's completely pointless appearance of Doakes, I just want them to wrap up what we have. haha

  13. I don't think it was pointless at all, just a little brief. I think season seven played to a lot of Doakes plots and themes (like fires: Burning down the church + The Shadow and the weird arson expert.), and even though I was rooting for LaGeurta to get hers, she did prove that she cared about something other than her social standing by trying to clear Doakes name and expose the Bay Harbor Butcher -And like Doakes tracking Dex, did LaGeurta meet her ends as well.

You're right, and your evaluation is great, but what I mean is that it felt like the flashbacks didn't serve as key to move the plot forward. They were there, they reminded us of the past, they were nice in terms of reference, but they had no greater purpose or true connection to the finale itself and they didn't reveal anything we already didn't know. We already knew of Doakes suspicion, if it was given some kind of information that helped us understand the present situation better, I wouldn't be complaining at all.

  17. I agree it didn't advance the plot, but what I like about shows like Dexter is the ability to weave it all together and to tie it all back. It's what gives us a sense of fate, themes, and a solidity in terms of the work as a whole. -With Dexter, we don't really know if he can ever advance. A lot of times it's like he takes two steps forward and six steps back. Ultimately it just gave LaGuerta more character and continued to play the Doomsday themes out.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. It's just that there were so many flashback scenes with Doakes and, in the end, they felt pointless because they just showed what we already knew. But you're right, it did give more weight to the LaGuerta storyline, seing from this perspective. Also, Doomsday was season six.

I think dexter should leave with LUMEN. She should come get him and take him away from Miami. They should have a final scene where Lumen is cooking in the kitchen and dexter is outside cutting wood watching harrison play. then the camera should focus on harrison and see that he is actually killing a bunny! (we end it knowing that harrison will become a serial killer).

  20. The themes of doomsday killer are still on going as we count down to the end of Dexter....

You can say that but I feel like "Doomsday" was more of season six because of the relligious themes, let's not forget the show was only confirmed to be ending a few months ago, if it kept running this whole Dex/Deb thing would be nothing more than a passing storyline, not a proper endgame.

  22. The show has spiritual themes abou ethics and justification all through out, but it is the loss of Rita, Lumen, and then Brother Sam that leads Dexter to ditch Harry in exchange for Brian for a sec, go to Nebraska, where he has not really followed the code ever since, leading to Debra knowing, and leaving the viewers on shaky ground as to what Dexter's end is going to be (via Debra's choices), as it's ending will the determine what the writers sense of justice or moral ethics is in relation to "if" Dexter has a place in this world or not.

I never thought of that but, yeah, I think Harry has appeared very scarcely as Dark Passenger this season.

  24. I assume they didn't use it because the last episode is about remembering the monsters he killed since it's called "Remember the Monsters?" Maybe episode 10 is "goodbye" :/

  25. I have seen the very few finale photos and I have to say that most of the main characters (with the exception of one season guessed star) seem to make it till that point.

But I was just joking around and some other members thought my mocking title was actually a good one. As I said in other posts, I'm sure the finale is titled what it titled for a good reason, even though I think it's kind of a bland 'say it like is' phrase.

  26. They didn't hire me. :P

But seriously, the current title sounds a bit meh. Not epic enough. Maybe I just put too much stock in episode titles. :)
