There's also another superhero being introduced in season two that fans are eager to
meet: Black Canary, who will be played by Caity Lotz, at least at first. Of course, the
casting caused some eyebrows to be raised as Laurel became the Black Canary in the
comics, but Pedowitz spills that Lotz's character will have major ties to Laurel.
"I hope she brings a certain amount of conflict since she's playing the sister of Laurel Lance," he reveals of the new character, who he wouldn't confirm or deny is actually the Black Canary. "It's an origin story. I don't know if this character is the Black Canary or not the Black Canary, so it is in origin story. But remember, Laurel Lance was the Black Canary in the DC universe."

that's quite a big spoiler in the title for arrow fans
ReplyDeleteI called it! But I didn't post on the original casting post, so I didn't call it as well. Anyway, I knew she would be Laurel's sister. I'm glad we'll see more of her.
ReplyDeleteoh wow
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't look like the previous actress that played Sara, and I don't know if I can buy her being Sara.
ReplyDeleteOh, well, OK then, I would have prefer the sister to be a villain but this works, kind of, does this mean we won't be seeing more of Alex K. aka Mama Lance?
ReplyDeleteI expect Laurel's mom to come back when she finds out her daughter is back, and lots of Lance family drama..
ReplyDeleteWell they brought up Sarah being alive enough times... It will be interesting to see where this goes! Will Sarah be back or just as Black Canary?
ReplyDeleteMaybe a half sister that Laurel (and maybe Quentin as well) didn't know about?
ReplyDeleteNow that sounds good!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually more excited to learn that Flash will probably not have superpowers in his time on Arrow. Good plan. Not quite as sold on the new actress playing Laurel's sister. If this is supposed to be Sarah, then why the new actress? If she's supposed to be a long lost sister, then we'll have to deal with even more Lance family melodrama and more hypocritical screeching at each other. Definitely NOT looking forward to that. Here's hoping Sarah underwent plastic surgery after being horribly disfigured in the explosion.
ReplyDeleteThat would be the worst scenario of all. Screaming, accusations, hypocrisy in spades. We already had that last season from the Lances. They need to cut down their family drama, not ratchet it up.
ReplyDeleteI've come to believe that no one actually dies in superhero shows or soap operas. Not even if they are decapitated and we watch the body get cremated. Coming back from presumably being drowned at sea with no body present should be a piece of cake.
ReplyDeleteBlack Canary being Sara makes perfect sense, in my opinion. She might have gone though a similar journey to Oliver's on the island - or on another island.
ReplyDeleteOr a third sister, that lives in another country...
ReplyDeleteA lot of people are jumping to the conclusion that the sister is Sarah. I don't believe that's the case.
ReplyDeleteThat's huge news!
ReplyDeleteShe's Sarah? Or some other unknown (half) sister? I can't wait to find out! I have faith in writers that whatever option they choose, it's gonna be great ;)
I don't agree. I think it's a better option than recasting Sara (I'm not opposed to recasting but I believe all other options should be explored first) or introducing a new sister who has heretofore never ever been mentioned.
ReplyDeleteCould be interesting. I'd prefer her being a different sister than Sarah. Keep Sarah dead.
ReplyDeleteThe writers need to be careful though. Fans are firmly divided on the topic of Laurel; and if this new Black Canary is kick-ass, likable, and awesome only to be fridged so Laurel can don the fishnets... the Laurel hatred will only increase.
Haha, pretty much like in superhero comics, yeah. xD
ReplyDeleteI could see that...
ReplyDeletejust as Ruby answered I didnt even know that anyone able to get paid $8519 in 1 month on the computer. did you read this page www.bar28.com
ReplyDeleteI don't need the Lance family drama, I have a feeling that we'll be getting enough of that with the Queens but I did like the chemistry between Paul Blackthorne and Alex K. so I just want her back for like a 3-4 episode arc and the poof until next season or something
ReplyDeleteYou all can read right? It's Sarah, and that is settled. As simple as that. I have no idea why you would think that the creators of the show would go as far as to take extreme liberties like that by adding a second sister of Laurel out of nowhere. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/movienewsandreviews/news/?a=84524
ReplyDeleteYou mean Sarah Lance??? or another sister?
ReplyDeleteWow what an asshole response. As for taking liberties, characters like Felicity aren't even supposed to be here. She was a minor character in the comics at best and as far as I know she had little to no interaction with Oliver. It's not that crazy that they would create another sister.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, do you even know how television works?
Its 200% Sara, considering the whole "she used to keep canaries" thing we heard.
ReplyDeleteSo Sarah took over from her mother and Laurel will take over from Sarah?
Fits with me.
I bet they are only doing this to further Laurel's place on the show, however forced it may be.
ReplyDeleteAlso, there had been many people disgusted that Oliver/Laurel would get together with Sarah's body in-between them, so it feels like the writers are telling us "Look at this, Sarah isn't really dead! Now can't you see how much Oliver and Laurel belong together!"
The writers don't seem to realize that Laurel sucks the life out of most scenes she appears in.
WOW, that's a little harsh. I disagree. I like her and I like her and Oliver but I think her character is underwritten not underacted. I think she has potential to be a good character on the show.....if the writers take the time to do so.
