I´m so happy somebody else watches SOA. Opies death will always be remembered. Both because I loved his character, but also because of the brutality of it.
Other: Sean, Nikita. Heartbreaking acting by Lyndsy Fonseca (Dillon Casey too, but Lyndsy did most of the heavy lifting in that scene) and beautiful music, Goodbye by Apparat ft. Soan & Skin.
Did you watch the BTS video where they shave his beard and all the actors are crying? In a way, that was a lot more devastating than the episode. And yes,I love this show.It is one of the most well-written shows in the past ten years. It never fails to shock me or make me feel miserable!
All these deaths stayed with me for a long time,it's nearly impossible for me to choose. But I need to choose one and I'm choosing Vinny.I didn't care for the character, but I think that is what made the scene stand out for me. It made me cry (even the day after) for a character I never liked or particularly disliked and that says sth abt the ppl working in the show.Vinny is shot, realises he's going to die and all he does is say to his partner ''It's OK Raegan...I told you this is the end,it's the end..It's OK.''.His badass attitude even though it had traits of resigning (that's how it works in this part of the city) made his death all the more heroic.
I had expected Lori to die, but it was sad the way it played. It seemed like she and Rick might have worked it out, and then she left a young son and a newborn, sad. I also expected Andrea to die, but I was sad when Milton died. Oddly the TWD death that affected me the most was Axel. He was kind of creepy at first, but then he grew on me. And his death was so sudden.
From the list,Tommy from Arrow. Other than that,Merle Dixon on The Walking Dead and,of course, half the Stark family on Game of Thrones.I have read the books,I knew it was coming but it was still traumatizing.
Tommy's death in Arrow was by far the most touching to me, not just this year but in a long time. It was brilliantly done and is part of why that season finale was so amazing.
i know. i really liked him from the start and while i may be the only one i actually saw him becoming a good guy down the road. i was actually happy he came back towards the end, even if he wanted to kill everyone....lol
The scene was touching, but I hated Cora and when I was watching this scene,I was happy that Rumpel got to live and excited abt what murdering Cora would do to Snow that I can't say I was heartbroken.I will be heartbroken if I don't see Rose play young Cora again, though.
What he was doing was for good. he was trying so hard to warn everyone about Silas! but nopes! everything is about great Elena. what hurts the most is that his death went in vain.it was so brutal and cruel :'( he was even ready to negotiate and talk with elena.
he would harm everyone if he was not forced to by those scooby gang -_-
he really was great character and had so much potential. specially when Originals is starting.
I had submitted the poll before the RW.I'm not sad about Talisa, but I am about the baby. And the direwolf. I knew the massacre was going to happen,so I watched because I was interested in seeing how they'd do it and I was not that impressed. But I would have mentioned them if the ep had aired a week ago. When I submitted the poll,I wasn't thinking about which death made me sadder,it was more about how they did it and in Jeremy's case I believe they could have found another, more interesting way to kill him and that's why I didn't mention him.
Jerry from Rookie Blue, very shocking and sad to see him go. Also Sean from Nikita. Tommy from Arrow. Jeremy on TVD, but he's back now soo whatever. Im not bothering with TVD anymore.
The second time killed me because it wasn't just the death of Daniel, but the death of Regina's hope for a happy ending. Daniel was her one true love. Once she gave up on ever having him back by turning him to powder, she gave up having the fairytale love that everyone around her seems to get. It was literally a death of her dreams and at the same time, the death of an innocent man.
There are SO many people missing from this list! SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER! Cora, once upon a time, Maggie and Nora on Revolution, Jolene on Nashville, half the cast of The following, Dr. Sloan on Greys - just to name a few!
Well, yes.Perhaps not so much as the others, but he was the hero in that particular situation,he was trying to save the world and Elena and the rest of them were the bad guys.
So many heartbreaking deaths in this season, out of whats there I don't know who to vote for.
For me Lori in Walking Dead was hands down the most heartbreaking, followed by Andrea. Also Amanda in Revenge, Sybil in Downton Abbey, The Starks in Game of Thrones...etc
I had to agree with you about Revenge's Amanda. I was a little relieved when Lori died, as heartless as that sounds. I guess I held a grudge since season 2, with her whispering into Rick's ear. Bros before Hos and all that.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Ahem.. what about a certain person that died in Revolution this week?
ReplyDeleteThe poll options were most likely submitted before the Revolution finale
ReplyDeleteNone of this! Lori - The Walking Dead!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Rob - Game of Thrones, Laguerta - Dexter, Sean - Nikita, FauxAmanda - Revenge, Tommy - Arrow, Parker - The Following, Andrea - The Walking Dead
God, was this season hard or what! But seriously, Lori left me devastated
Opie
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeleteOn this poll: Opie. However, Robb, Catelyn, Talisa, and little unborn Ned Stark (presumably if he was a boy) were the most heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteCatelyn, Naomi
ReplyDeleteTommy
ReplyDeleteI´m so happy somebody else watches SOA. Opies death will always be remembered. Both because I loved his character, but also because of the brutality of it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Opie!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, good point.
ReplyDeleteTommy's death on Arrow hands down.
ReplyDeleteSo unexpected, so sudden, so realistic and so sad. Tommy, despite his imperfections and flaws, died a hero a selfless death and it was heartbreaking.
Its the first death CW did right in a long long LONG time.
It was more heartbreaking the death of Cora than the death of Daniel in OUAT in my opinion!
ReplyDeletePaul and Jacob on The Following, Robb and Catelyn on Games of Thrones, Cora on Once Upon a Time.
ReplyDeleteIf the choice had been given, I would have picked Catelyn from Game Of Thrones. Instead, I went with Tommy on Arrow.
ReplyDeleteEdie Britt from Desperate Housewives. It was about 4 years ago but for me it is still heartbreaking scene.
ReplyDeleteAndrea from The Walking Dead :'(
ReplyDeleteOpie from the suggested list, but my top pick is of course Spartacus.
ReplyDeleteTOMMY )-:
ReplyDeleteThe Walking Dead: Merle Dixon
ReplyDeleteOther: Sean, Nikita. Heartbreaking acting by Lyndsy Fonseca (Dillon Casey too, but Lyndsy did most of the heavy lifting in that scene) and beautiful music, Goodbye by Apparat ft. Soan & Skin.
ReplyDeleteEvan Marks, Beauty And The Beast! The Most HEARTBREAKING!
ReplyDeleteNone of the above. Catelyn Stark :'(
ReplyDeleteDefinitely
ReplyDeleteOPIE. DEAR GOD. I WANT TO CRY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT
ReplyDeleteI only watch Arrow of the shows listed so I had an easy choice.
ReplyDeleteStill pissed about Kol his dead
ReplyDeleteDid you watch the BTS video where they shave his beard and all the actors are crying? In a way, that was a lot more devastating than the episode. And yes,I love this show.It is one of the most well-written shows in the past ten years. It never fails to shock me or make me feel miserable!
ReplyDeleteThe second time killed me because Regina had to do it.
ReplyDeleteKol for sure. still cant get over it,
ReplyDeleteAll these deaths stayed with me for a long time,it's nearly impossible for me to choose. But I need to choose one and I'm choosing Vinny.I didn't care for the character, but I think that is what made the scene stand out for me. ReplyDeleteI'm more pissed about how they did it,than the death itself.
ReplyDeleteOpie should win this poll but he won't.
ReplyDeleteI had expected Lori to die, but it was sad the way it played.
ReplyDeleteI have to go with Jeremy on TVD, even if he cam back now
ReplyDeleteAnd Catelyn, Robb and his wife on GoT
The deaths of Catelyn, Rob, and Talisa were like a punch in the gut this week on Game of Thrones. Red Wedding indeed.
ReplyDeleteKol Mikaelson? Heartbreaking? Really?
ReplyDeleteFrom the list,Tommy from Arrow.
ReplyDeleteOther than that,Merle Dixon on The Walking Dead and,of course, half the Stark family on Game of Thrones.I have read the books,I knew it was coming but it was still traumatizing.
Tommy's death in Arrow was by far the most touching to me, not just this year but in a long time. It was brilliantly done and is part of why that season finale was so amazing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he did die a second time, but when Regina loses his mother in her arms when she just get is kindness bacj, this is devastating!
ReplyDeletewhere the hell is robb stark on that list?
ReplyDeletei know. i really liked him from the start and while i may be the only one i actually saw him becoming a good guy down the road. i was actually happy he came back towards the end, even if he wanted to kill everyone....lol

ReplyDeleteRobb Stark :'(
ReplyDeleteJerry from Rookie Blue, very shocking and sad to see him go. Also Sean from Nikita. Tommy from Arrow. Jeremy on TVD, but he's back now soo whatever. Im not bothering with TVD anymore.
ReplyDeleteSean Pierce
ReplyDeleteSOA is the most well-written show on television!Truly shocking developments and moving scenes that can make you cry all night.
ReplyDeletereally of all the death on TVD kol? a character the audience barely knew anything about to really feel something about their death
ReplyDeleteNeal once upon a time¸
ReplyDeleteAnd I can say Arthur Merlin
ReplyDeleteWell, there should have been an opening for other. Sarah Blake, a beloved returning character on Supernatural was the most heartbreaking for me.
ReplyDeleteArthur in Merlin!
ReplyDeleteThe second time killed me because it wasn't just the death of Daniel, but the death of Regina's hope for a happy ending. Daniel was her one true love. ReplyDeleteme neither:(
ReplyDeleteI had submitted it before the RW!If I submitted it after,Robb would be on the list!
ReplyDeleteI think Neal was alive when Mulan found him.
ReplyDeleteWell, yes.Perhaps not so much as the others, but he was the hero in that particular situation,he was trying to save the world and Elena and the rest of them were the bad guys.
ReplyDeleteSo many heartbreaking deaths in this season, out of whats there I don't know who to vote for.
ReplyDeleteFor me Lori in Walking Dead was hands down the most heartbreaking, followed by Andrea. Also Amanda in Revenge, Sybil in Downton Abbey, The Starks in Game of Thrones...etc
The list could just go on and on
LaGuerta? Are you kidding me? All fans were happy she died! the only sad thing about her death was Debs reaction. She's broken now.
ReplyDeleteYeah I meant for Deb's reaction, not Laguerta's death in itself!
ReplyDeleteOpie, it damn nearly killed me!
ReplyDeleteI think to! But that was so sad!
ReplyDelete- Sammy the dog (Revenge)
ReplyDeleteOPIE!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI had to agree with you about Revenge's Amanda. I was a little relieved when Lori died, as heartless as that sounds. I guess I held a grudge since season 2, with her whispering into Rick's ear. Bros before Hos and all that.
ReplyDeleteCora-Once Upon a Time.
