Castle, I would have liked to put Jeremy Carver for Supernatural on here, but he did such a hatchet job on Sam this season it ruined the show and Sam for me. Hopefully he will do better in season 9.
Heaps of people hold a lot of hatred for Andrew Marlowe, which is pretty strange considering he's by far the most interviewed, and the most 'open' showrunner out there. In addition, why would you want to hate the showrunner of a show that you love and are so obsessed with? It shows that the showrunner in question is doing their job exceptionally well but those who hate definitely don't want to return that favor
not really sure why there wasn't an 'other' option, here's a few showrunners that i think are pretty good-
jason katims (roswell, parenthood) mark schwahn (one tree hill) andy breckman (monk) steve franks (psych) jeff eastin (white collar, graceland) jj abrams (felicity, fringe, lost, alcatraz, alias, almost human)
on the list, i think i would either say edward kitsis and adam horowitz or jonathan nolan (for OUAT and POI respectively).
None of the above actually.. Some of my favourites that are not included are David Simon(The Wire,Treme), Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad), JJ Abrams (Lost, Fringe, Alias) and Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Hannibal).
ROFL why is Julie Plec even there. Is there someone who even likes her or what she did to that show? XDD
Anyway since this list has no Emily Andras(Lost Girl), who has been hilariously perfect in both interacting with fans and trolling the fans, I'll have to go with Person of Interest showrunner.
One of the best things about SPN is how the fans see the same show and have totally different visions. Season 8 would have been close to replacing my favorite season 4, except the trashing of Sam's characters...not looking for Dean, just would never happen, unless Sam is not Sam. Since they kept bringing it up I am still holding out hope that since it was not fixed this year, maybe next. This season Sam was not the Sam of the last 7 years and I did not even like him much.
it's between Marlowe and Nolan for me... POI has been excellent from ep one and has only gotten better. Same for Castle, but Marlowe expertly took the boiling urst plot and instead of milking it too long (HHanson imo), he stared down the dreaded "Moonlighting curse" and gave the fans the payoff and continued to keep the writing awesome and prevented any decline in the show...
On this list: Jonathan Nolan (Person of Interest). This guy is a genius.
Vive Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse), JJ Abrams (Alias, Lost, Fringe), Shawn Ryan (The Shield, The Chicago Code, Terriers, Last Resort), Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Revolution), Kevin Williamson (Vampire Diaries, The Following), Kyle Killen (Awake), Shawn Cassidy (Invasion, American Gothic), Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24) and Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls, Hannibal).

Easy pick for me...Jonathan Nolan. For me, Person of Interest is the tightest show on this list. Andrew Marlowe would have been my pick if PoI were not on the list. Scandal is pretty tight but Shonda Rhimes loses points with me because I got bored with Grey's Anatomy. Julie Plec is absolutely at the bottom of this list for me. I'm 80% certain I will not be watching Vampire Diaries next season..and this is a show that I had been actively trying to get my friends to watch.
This was easy .... Andrew Marlowe, who made this season of Castle even better than the previous two.
I would have had a problem if Shane Brennan were there for NCIS but I don't like what Gary Glasberg has been doing (too much emphasis on Vance) and saying that this is going to be the "year of Tiva" and then having them end as friends is just cheating.
Hart Hanson took too long to put Bones and Booth together and I lost interest years ago, Shonda Rhimes has just been throwing spaghetti at the wall for years to see if something sticks, and the emphasis on villains this year on OUaT had me bored and channel-surfing by March.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
And Marlowe takes the lead.
ReplyDeleteof course he does because he hsa the best dialogues of them all

ReplyDeleteAndrew Marlowe of course. And if there was a poll for the least favourite showrunner, Shonda would get my vote.
ReplyDeleteIf the option "Other" was available, I would definitely choose it because of Bryan Fuller. Since it isn't, I abstain.
ReplyDeleteI don't even see why Shonda Rhimes is there
ReplyDeleteGrey's Anatomy has been on air for nearly a decade and there is a reason behind that.
ReplyDeleteIn Marlowe we trust! :)

Craig Silverstein and Bryan Fuller for me.
ReplyDeleteFriends!
ReplyDeleteJonathan Nolan for POI, always..............and other Jeremy Carver (more because the excellent season 8 of SPN).
ReplyDeleteJoss Whedon, Rob Thomas, Josh Schwartz, Dan Harmon, Steven Moffat.
ReplyDeleteAndrew Marlowe (Castle), by a long shot.

ReplyDeleteOTHER- JOEL H WYMAN
ReplyDeleteOn this list: Jonathan Nolan for Person of Interest. But I will always believe Dan Harmon for Community is the best.
ReplyDeleteKripke - please, please come back and fix Supernatural. I also like Nolan from this list and Whedon from off the list.
ReplyDeleteBryan Fuller by a million miles
ReplyDeleteNot anymore
ReplyDelete1. Andrew Marlowe
ReplyDelete2. Jonathan Nolan
If Bryan Fuller was on this list then he would have been my number 1 but sadly he isn't.
Andrew Marlowe, Bryan Fuller.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Kurt Sutter for Sons of Anarchy? He's one of the most active on Twitter doing a Q&A every Tuesday night.
ReplyDeleteWhy is there no Harmon?

ReplyDeleteVoted for Kripke, but it was a toss up between him and Marlowe.
ReplyDeleteMarlowe Marlowe Marlowe Marlowe Marlowe!
ReplyDeleteJonathan Nolan. This guy is just a genius (like his brother!)
