Under the Dome - Casting News - Natalie Zea joins cast

Jun 10, 2013

With Fox's The Following on hiatus, Natalie Zea is headed Under the Dome this summer — and perhaps beyond. Zea, who plays The Following's Claire Matthews, has been cast in a continuing role in the CBS summer series, which premieres June 24. Just how "continuing" her role is I imagine will depend on Claire's fate.

"Once you're stuck under the dome, casting is fairly limited because people can't get in, but that doesn't mean there might not be somebody hiding out," says executive producer Neal Baer. "We've cast the beautiful Natalie Zea as a woman who makes an alarming appearance in a few episodes beginning in Episode 9. She plays Maxine, and if you think [the show's big baddie] Jim Rennie (Dean Norris) is trouble, you haven't seen trouble yet. And she'll be connected to a number of our characters."

  1. I did not know her before but she was one of my favorite things about the following, so I am all for this! Hope Claire isn't dead though!

  2. Can't see Under the Dome getting renewed... I can't wait to watch but its going to flop..
Nobody watches network tv in the Summer

  3. The reason no one watches is because the networks barely promote summer shows. But Under the Dome has been receiving a lot of buzz, lately.

I'm interested in seeing how this plays out as a series, because usually Stephen King's work is adapted into mini-series'. Haven is based off of King's The Colorado Kid and it began as a summer show and look how it turned out. (Currently it's going into its 4th season!)

    I have hope. :)

  4. I hope you are wrong. I am looking forward to the show a lot. But yeah, I also don't have my hopes up. I don't know why CBS didn't manage to give it a better timeslot. I mean, it's summer, it is not like they don't have timeslots to give. After Big Brother or somehow after The Big Bang Theory would make more sense.

  5. That's the reason why the tv gods invented the DVR,play now view later....It might flop but i wouldn't count it out,or any summer show.
