Yay! That is awesome. Hopefully season four renewal soon.
ReplyDeleteway to go Teen Wolf.
ReplyDeleteHard to imagine MTV handing out a renewal until 3B premieres but the earlier the better, I hope they will renew it early so we won't get leaving cast members in between seasons like with Gage and whats-his-ugly-face.
ReplyDeleteLooks like there's a Teen Wolf hater somewhere...poor baby.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteIt deserves it. I just got into it by watching all the episodes on On Demand last week and I'm hooked. It's a great show.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear this!! Really enjoy this show :D Premiere wasn't as strong for me but I'm glad that more people are watching and we are getting a full season this time! I would say I'm missing Colton Haynes but since he's on Arrow I'm not missing Jackson (who is kind of the rich version of Roy if you ask me...). Season 4 would be awesome and doesn't sound too out of the picture either :D
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the show is doing very well because it's great. Also I hope this encourages MTV to produce more quality programing instead of reality crap.
ReplyDeleteDeveloping scripted programming is still an extremely high priority for them. Just a few months ago I think they hired or promoted a VP who was in charge of it.
ReplyDeleteNeed Peter Hale. He was mentioned ... but not sighted.
ReplyDeleteAwesome for the cast and crew. This is the first time I watched it live. So glad I finally watched this series. Here's hoping the numbers stay high and the series stays action-packed with a great pace.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I thought Jackson was the best acted character in season 2, I am glad Colton Haynes left the show. He's doing a great job as Roy on Arrow. Now if only he could do both.
ReplyDeleteI still missed Jackson. Not because of the character in as much as I thought Colton Haynes did a superior acting job as him. I will say that having him as Roy though is taking the edge off.
ReplyDeleteI hemmed and hawed and put off watching this show for over a year, even though I had a lot of people recommending it to me. I finally watched the pilot earlier this year and needless to say it became an instant marathon. I cannot believe a show this good is on MTV.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say anytime soon, but with how much promotion I saw for this show, and not even being of the demographic MTV was targeting, I'd say MTV knows it has a winner. I think it's a definite lock for season 4.
ReplyDeleteI never saw what you thought of the premiere. Did you like it? For me it was confusing yet exhilarating. I'm a happy fan.
ReplyDeleteAwesome news! I actively avoided watching for a year because of the name alone. But Im really glad I happened across a commerical and decided to try checking it out. The main character, Scott, just hooked my entire family.
ReplyDeleteif it follows the pattern of seasons 1 and 2, it will drop huge. Season 1 went from 2.17 to 1.47 million viewers, Season 2 went from 2.11 to 1.75 million viewers, which are pretty big drops. owever that's because they debuted on Sundays, the fact the show debuted on Monday this time, could have helped it stay steady in week 2 hopefully. Still haven't watched it yet, plan on doing so soon, I watched it since season 2, and I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the background info. While I track the CW's ratings, I've largely ignored MTV's since it isn't really my demo. Here's hoping that next week will keep somewhat steady ratings, although I do expect them to drop somewhat.
ReplyDeleteI thought the premiere was very fast-paced with only a couple of scenes that dragged. Probably the biggest concern was that it was confusing due to the large number of new characters and hints about the new mythology. I trust that they will go a long way in answering some questions next episode so I am not worried about that though. Basically the premiere did its job for me - kept me on the edge of my seat, attention engaged, and feeling like the hour flew by.
I avoided it because it was on MTV. I too am glad I finally was persuaded to watch it. For me, it was Stiles snark and the constant action that hooked me.
ReplyDeleteI have only seen the first season of Teen Wolf on our local MTV but I really enjoyed it.The dynamics between the characters was really good.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely be watching the second series as soon as it comes up.
I hate teen shows and I wasn't going to watch the first episode, but I decided to give it a try as it was a fantasy show, and I was pleasantly surprised.
ReplyDeleteIt was really good, well-written and engaging, and I found myself anticipating the next episode.
As for Grimm, I haven't seen it yet but somehow I'm 'meh' about it, I don't know why.
I could be completely wrong, of course. I'll think about buying the S1 dvd during the summer months.
I love TW and I even bought both seasons of Grimm on Google Play when I was drunk...le sigh. So I suppose I have to watch all the episodes now at least. But when it premiered I watched a few episodes and just stopped after the one about a giant bee or something. Not a *bad* show but it was hard for me to stay engaged but hopefully that changes because it's a show I *want* to like.
ReplyDeleteAll my friends feel the same when I tell them about Teen Wolf, or Awkward - both MTV does *great* scripted programming. RJ Berger wasn't half bad, Death Valley was pretty freakin' awesome, Underemployed wasn't my cup of tea and didn't make me commit to it, however I thought the two episodes I watched were very solid hours of TV and they entertained me well enough.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch anything on MTV but their scripted programming - (everything else I see is because my roommate is watching freakin' Teen Mom or something) - is and has always been excellent.
I was thinking MTV was capitalizing on the Twilight phenomenon so I avoided it like the plague, even when some people I trust told me I would probably like it. I couldn't get over the idea that there was a hunter-werewolf forbidden love theme. However, I was hooked from the pilot once I saw it. All that lovely snarky action.
ReplyDeleteGrimm in its first season is fairly procedural. It doesn't really delve into mytharc fully until the second season. Since I tend to like standalones, that doesn't bother me. It also helps that I love the Monroe character and actor. I think Grimm is hitting its stride right now. I will say that I about lost my patience halfway through this season due to drawing out an uberannoying amnesia plot. However, the secondary characters are so awesome that I could ignore the lame plot and keep going. It won't replace Supernatural for you, but I have been enjoying the ride.
Ha! There are definitely some episodes that are better than others on Grimm. I wasn't a fan of the bee episode either. If you are more into the mytharc of a show, you will probably like season 2 more than season 1 where it was fairly procedural. For me it is actually the secondary characters of Monroe, Rosalee, and Wu who draw me into the story.
ReplyDeleteI am considering watching Awkward this summer, mainly because my podcast partner keeps telling me it's great. I will certainly be more open to shows on MTV now although some of the promos leave me questioning the sanity of those who okayed them. I saw something for I think it was called Girl Code that made me want to get brain bleach. Quite frankly I rarely know what is on MTV since I'm way too old for their marketing.
ReplyDeleteYeaah! Good news for Teen Wolf! Season Premiere was a bit strange, because of all the new characters. Hope you now what I mean. I didn't miss Jackson very much. But I did miss Peter Hale!
ReplyDeleteTrue, I was looking forward to him joining the gang and softening up but I guess once I found out he was on Arrow I was alright with it. American werewolf in London lol where do they come up with these things.
ReplyDeleteI 'll admit I laughed at the American werewolf in London line even if it was corny. It helped that Lydia was absolutely aware of what she was saying and being sarcastic too.
ReplyDeleteIt was hard for me too with all the new werewolves and the mystery woman. I'm hoping that we will get answers right away in the second episode, at least as far as who everyone is of course. I know the plot mysteries will last for several episodes.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good start but there are some things that have me worried. But hey we have 24 episodes this go round so lots of times for answers, action and of course Stiles.
ReplyDeleteAh Stiles. More Stiles is always a great thing. I thought it was a little too confusing, just dumping all these characters on us with out much context but all in all I was very pleased. The drab, emoangsting tattoo speech had to go though.
