Revolution began with a bang back in September last year, premiering with a 4.4 adults 18-49 rating, and 11.65 million viewers. The tenth episode - the mid-season finale in December, earned a 2.9 rating and 8.54 million viewers. A mammoth 17 week gap followed, with the mid-season premiere returning in March to a 2.6 rating and 7.03 million viewers
Episodes 17, 18, and the penultimate 19th episode have all earned a 1.9 rating, with the latter earning the highest audience of the three, at 6.32 million viewers. As a result, the season ratings average thus far sits at a mere 2.60 - with the mid-season premiere being the only episode in the second half of this season to equal or beat that number. The audience numbers tell a story much the same, with the season average sitting at 7.27 million viewers. No episode in the second half of the season has come close to beating that mark - the closest was last weeks penultimate episode at 6.32 million viewers - almost 1 million viewers shy of the average
Live+7 ratings data sees the season averaging a 4.41 rating - not bad for a late night show, but once again none of the episodes this side of the season have reached that benchmark. An average of 11.142 million viewers tune in through the week, but like the Live+7 ratings, no episode in this half of the season has reached that benchmark either
Episodes 8 and 9 both earned 2.6 ratings - season lows at the time, but the mid-season finale (episode 10) saw the ratings jump to a 2.9. and another 1.5 million viewers tune in. So with the last three episodes this season earning 1.9 ratings, will there be a ratings jump for the finale? I'd say a lot rides on the performance of lead-in The Voice, the last four episodes of which have fallen 0.3 of a ratings point on the week prior, to last week's 3.2 rating. With no significant competition in the form of ABC's Castle or CBS's Hawaii Five-0, I'd say the chances are reasonably good that there will be a ratings spike of some sort for the finale in under 24 hours
