  1. So basically Revolution just turned into a bad version of Jericho?

The best part of the series was the fact that it was a world without power, with the adventures and the trekking and the sword fighting, was the fun part, I don't even know how I feel about the show after this.

  2. Very nice. So they can just turn the lights off again and the nukes drop dead, right?

  3. Bad version of Jericho - isn't it way to early for that description? The finale was pretty damn cool and the back half of the season really got the ball rolling for the show. Bring on season 2.

  4. Wow. The ending. I didnt see it coming. I wonder who plays the President next season. Damn! Nora's death is expected. As the series goes by, I love more and more the relationship between Miles and Monroe! :D

  5. No, you missed Randell smashing the button so it couldn't be turned off. Plus i don't think they had a way to get into the room in order to even try turning off the power. See what ya get for flipping channels! ;)

  6. Nice to know you can get worldwide electricity again without apparently having a single operational power plant....

  7. Not sure how i feel about this episode, tho learning the president was alive was a twist i didn't see coming..I like to know why he was in hiding and how many people knew about it?

  8. I have to go back and rewatch it, but did Grace manage to elude Neville and his men when Miles and Charlie arrived on the scene? Could she maybe get into the room?

  9. Except it can't be the same President as when the power went out since no President can serve for 15 years. Of course that's assuming that those "patriots" are playing by the rules of the US Constitution but I rather doubt that they are.

  10. I had kind of given up on this, but came back for the finale. Boy can Kripke write a finale that turns things on their heads. And now, I'm back in.

  11. I have to say I loved the world without power and the trekking, it reminded me so much of LOST. Yet I think they will do whatever they can to turn the power back off once they realize the damage it might cause. Damn that was a good finale though. I want more.

  12. I loved the last few seconds when the camera panned out to reveal the location of the us colony.

Epic made me laugh out loud at that one.

  13. Kripke said from the very beginning that the long run of the show was not about turning the power back on, but rather reviving society. With this incredible finale, they did just that, and put the season 2 storyline into motion. I, for one, am glad that the power is back on. It's a plot device that worked well for one season, but stretching it any longer would just make the show boring.

I think it's great that the show took a long hiatus, since they probably revamped the pre-existing plot lines and made some radical changes to tell a more compelling story (i.e., killing Danny). For some reason I really want Adrian Pasdar to play the President. He did a great job playing one in Heroes, so why not again?

  14. You know its a Kripke show when their's a song at the start of a finale, and the brother thing with Monroe and Miles reminded me of Supernatural

  15. So... Nora is dead. Of course.

    What should I watch now?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Nora was my favorite character.... Her death almost made me cry, and I never cry about TV shows or movies.

  17. im thinking the same thing! i doubt that Grace might know more than she've showed for us.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Though Grace is still looming in the shadows somewhere after she escaped that firefight. :)

  19. What a weird finale, it was good but also weird... I find it hard to put my finger on it, but something felt off...

I doubt the power is definitely back on, I expect it to be shut back off in the season 2 premier. Perhaps as a way to stop the missiles or just because of having power will always have people killing each other with WMD's.

Rachel and co. are witnessing firsthand what restoring the power has done, not to mention the backlash the atmosphere seems to give with that freak lightning storm.

Also, to me, permanently restoring the power kills the premise of the show.

  20. "Kripke said from the very beginning that the long run of the show was not about turning the power back on, but rather reviving society."
After all, it's not "Lights out" but "Revolution"

  21. Since Monday night i have been trying to figure why or what disappointed me in this finale..and i still cannot pinpoint it, but it was weird....

And what did happen to Grace? Where did she go?

I was so excited after last weeks episode but the finale just frustrated me.

  22. Except they aren't playing by rules, they seem to have been throw out, discarded by the wayside..I still would like to know what made the president of the United States go underground? Also,we have to wonder about all the other country's China,Russia,Korea, etc.do they still exist?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Didn't Nevill & co. catch her--or did she get away when they took fire?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Restoring the power kills the premise of the show. You realize the name of the show is "Revolution", right? In a way the finale setup the premise of the show. I could be wrong and the lights go off again... we'll see.

  25. No, I wasn't try to be sarcastic. I guess I was a little bit "Kripktic" :-P
I was just making an observation on what Kripke said and what almost the rest of viewers think of this show which is "the lights are out so the show HAS TO be about this".
If that was the case, then the show wouldn't be called "Revolution" but to "Lights out"

  26. I liked it, but I think we didn't get nearly as much resolution as we should from certain things.
(For instance, for killing off Nora, they didn't really flesh out her story very much--which is really unusual for a main character death. -but I suspect she will be needed in FB's as a stepping stone, as it could be that the rebels are The President's rebels (and that some of them just didn't know what they were fighting for, being "lower" recruits)

As Laura3341 said to me in last week's overview, one hour really isn't enough time to resolve some bigger things and I think we didn't get very far, even some of our Tower peeps were just killed before we even had a chance to know them...Then they also didn't really introduce any new/cool technology, which might have been fun.

I'm feel confident that they will stop the missiles and turn the power back off. The lightening storm may either be an indicator of something bad (or bigger), or it maybe that the hardon collider is absorbing the energy so that things don't burn...

  27. There are Major Parallel's to Alias "All the time in the World" and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. (and Monroe didn't die) I think Bad Robot won out on this one! ---But you're right in the sense that it is NOT about the lights coming back on, which is why I'm pretty sure they won't stay on and will deactivate the missiles.

What makes the show iconic is the fact that it's sci-fi in "retro-spect" as here are many historical references related to U.S. and European history. By turning the lights on (and having them work normally) we take that away and the show looses it's historical significance that Utopia is achieved by limiting power to people, as this is humanity's second chance. (Randall Flynn is also a reference to Randall Flagg who represents the destruction of humanity through too much technology...)

  28. The "hardon collider"? lol! Gotta love typos!

  29. OMG! What have I done! XD (I better go fix it!)

  30. Technically we saw the world starting to power up and they never really focused on showing everywhere that power is back lol And who knew the place where we keep terrorist lol was actually the president's safe haven...All along Randall was working for the President and now the president himself is a terrorist for bout to nuke Atlanta and Philly of course unless they turn the power off again lol

    ReplyDelete
  31. Same here and then the president came to mind which makes me wonder why would he want power off the world when he could of prevent it by stopping Randall.....But my question is who the hell was Grace talking to in the beginning of the season before Randall kidnapped her.

Who knew Guantanamo Bay where we keep the terrorist was the presidents safe haven lol

    ReplyDelete
  32. I rewatched it and they are still right next to the terminal that turned the power back on. Can't they just turn it off again and nukes drop dead?

    ReplyDelete
  33. But how's it powering back up? Why would the nanites release the pent-up electricity into power grids, wires, batteries etc? For that matter, after fifteen years of inactivity and no maintenance, I'd expect a lot of the systems designed for the transmission of electric power would have degraded or corroded to stages of near-uselessness. Electricity doesn't just power things from the air, and devices don't generally turn themselves on.

    ReplyDelete
  34. lol! Sounds good to me!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I rewatched it myself last night but i must admit i had a hard time keeping my eyes open. :P

When Randell restored the power i still didn't see Grace in the room, did you? I think they will be able to turn the power off,but not by that button,Randell not only smashed the it but he also shot the button! I missed the shooting of it the first time around,,its deader than dead,ha!

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's powering back up bc they deactivated the nanites and reversed the process (my theory) but im sure we will learn more about it this fall and speaking of 15 yrs of inactivity how the building lighted up in Georgia lol

  37. This is show is just a mess. Nothing makes sense. I just don't see how the lame (and so poorly explained) scifi mythology of the show fits at all with the political/military aspect. Why did the blackout happen? Was it on purpose? It just occured to me. The US President ordered the blackout so the world would fall to pieces and then he could just turn the power back on and rule the world or something.

  38. It was a great finale. Not sure what will happen next season but it was good and certainly a game changer. The show is not perfect but is very entertaining and I find myself attached to it. Elizabeth Mitchell and the Miles/Monroe relationship are the two best things about it. Also, even though I never expected to say this, I love the late-season Charlie, I root for her a lot. Hope it makes it next season in its new timeslot!
