  1. They said they would focus more on the core characters at the beginning of season 2 too and then they added at least half a dozen new characters...
And if they make Emma Swan the Elena (TVD) of OUAT I don't know if I will watch this show much longer. She deserves better. Jennifer Morrison deserves better than a story where Emma's biggest issue is which one of two men (both not very dreamy and worth it in my opinion) she takes to bed.

  2. I hate love triangles. Always have. Just emotional manipulation on the part of the writers for no good reason.

I don't think they're lying about focusing on the core characters, though, because I believe this is a response to fan criticism of the way they dealt with the main characters in S2. While I'd love to see some new faces (Ariel and Aladdin, for starters), I think they need to improve the main players first. And I'm just hoping that Greg and Tamara will be killed off as quickly as possible to make way for a better villain.

  3. For the third time nothing juicy. Only suming up everything what we know from end of second season.

I am sorry, but its impossible to make character as useless, bland and irritating as Elena GIlbert. That's solely Julie Plec's talent.

"taking the villains and heroes and throwing them together and forcing
them to a common goal as a method for us to dig deeper and find out more
    about what makes them tick."

    This bit sounds AWESOME.

The best of this show has always been when the show blurs the lines(like the brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT Miller's Daughter episode) and it was nigh impossible for the actual confrontation of snow/regina to go on, so going into sort-of frienemies style of interaction sounds AWESOME.

And the whole set up of exploring Storybrooke characters without influence of the more-developed cast in Neverland, while we explore the interactions between the cast in neverland sounds so exciting.

With every bit S3 sounds better and better.

  6. Emma's not the Elena! she doesn't have enough screen time for that! But I agree, they've made Emma the blandest character, where her backstory and focus episode was actually about the men and not about her.

  7. Same stuff again, but still "villains and heroes working together!" Also known as....Season 2 where they teased the same thing. And we saw that in Broken, Into the Deep and Queen of Hearts, the finale, etc. They need to come up with a new thing other than that.

  8. I'm with you! I think this a much better set-up than what we had before and it seems more ripe to get what we want.

The only thing that I keep hoping for that we haven't heard of at all, is if Neverland is going to be a place to explore the character's childhoods and/or death a little further. I would be so content to see flashbacks to a very young Charming, Regina, Rumple, and Emma!

  9. Well I don't mind love triangles to some extent and clearly Hook tried to do something right in the finale, but I'm still having a hard time seeing Hook and Emma together, especially when I thought Hook and Regina are way more fun! But hey, if the writers can make me change my mind, more power to them,

I'd say its quite likely - considering they already hinted that we will be seeing more of Charming in his younger pre-Charming days.

Considering everything these characters went through(especially Snow and Regina) it would be great contrast.

    ...
Seeing young child-regina would be FASCINATING(as well as learning on how did the country Cora became princess of fell)

  11. I don't really get how they can even talk at this point about a 'love' triangle...I didn't see any 'love' between Hook and Emma, only bad flirting from Hook (if you even can call it that, with all his cheap sexual innuendoes..)

    ReplyDelete
  12. I also don't see the chemistry between Emma and Hook; the writing for his flirting was just creepy and it seems that the writers assumed Collin's hotness would be enough, but it was just awful, awful flirting.
And Emma is just so emotionally closed of that any romantic interest seems just forced -lust would be more probable- Morrison always has played her as very distrustful and distant, so she would need a more open and honest love interest to offset that.

In that vein, not even Nealfire is that good for her, but they have an history and it seems that he has matured a lot on the last few years. On the other hand, he is at fault of many of Emma's trust issues.

So all and all, I'd rather have Emma single, cause it l know is just going to get cheesy.
