You wanted Dick? You got him! Thanks to an e-mail sent out by series creator Rob Thomas to Kickstarter backers last night, we now have confirmation that Ryan Hansen will reprise his role as Dick Casablancas in the soon-to-shoot Veronica Mars feature film. Hansen first appeared as Dick in the second episode of the first season as a friend of Logan's, but soon became a fan-favorite and was upped to series regular for the second and third seasons. When we last saw Dick he was reconciling his past guilt over little brother Beaver's suicide, but proved he was still the ass we loved to hate when he helped spread Veronica's sex tape... so where will the 10 year reunion find Mr Casablancas?
Check out the hilarious video Hansen posted as a thank you to fans & let us know in the comments how psyched you are for his return.
Veronica Mars has a special place in my heart because it was my first big acting job (!!!!!!) and it was also one of the most lovely on-set experiences you could ever ask for. This will truly be an awesome shoot, not only because we all get to be reunited (can't WAIT!) but because of the revolutionary way this all was able to come to life! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Rob Thomas, Kristen Bell, Kickstarter, and most of all, to you, our AMAZING FANS, for making it happen. I'm honored to be a part of it!
In addition to Ritter, Neptune High will see several more alumni return for the 10 year reunion alongside Miss Mars; Amanda Noret will reprise her role as mean-girl Madison Sinclair, while Sam Huntington (Being Human) will be back to play season 1 drug mule Luke Haldeman. Immediately following the success of the Kickstarter campaign Rob Thomas shared the following script exceperpt featuring Veronica and Madison:
So, is there anyone left you just need to see back in Neptune? Filming is just two (TWO!!!!) days away, and still no word on Vinnie Van Lowe, but the additions of Dick, Gia and Madison are definitely exciting. Hit the comments to let out your excitement and let us know who & what YOU want to see in the Veronica Mars movie.
