Hell on Wheels - Production shut down, première date pushed back

Hell on Wheels is filmed in Calgary, Alberta, and this region of Canada is being hit in epic proportions by a rainstorm.

Rain has been pouring and the two rivers located near the sets, Bow and Highwood, have breached their banks. The main road leading to the sets is now under water, stopping production was necessary. The cast and crew (and the equipment) were evacuated yesterday and production is shut down until Monday, but it could be a bit longer if there is serious damage.

They were filming episode 3.06, and them stopping abruptly has led AMC to change its plans. Thus the première date has been moved : instead of starting Saturday, 3rd August at 9/8c, the 10-episode third season of Hell on Wheels will début the following week, on 10th August with a two-hour première. That's a day before the beginning of the end of Breaking Bad - which probably never had a rain problem like that in Albuquerque.

Until it's safe to come back to work, the cast and crew have pretty much nothing to do (the writing must be over by now) except stare outside the windows, look at the bad weather and listen to songs about rain (that's a thing).

All this wasted time wasted is costing AMC some precious zombie money, but at least no one has been or will get injured because of these events. Hopefully the sets will be alright.
