As Castle Season 5 came to a close,
the ABC series’ titular author solved
a mystery not of his own crafting
by getting on bended knee and
asking lady love Kate Beckett to
marry him.
And while the bold move caught some viewers off guard — after all, things were starting to go south for the pair in the wake of Beckett pursuing an out-of-town job — Nathan Fillion‘s eyebrows were not among those arched.
“No, it doesn’t shock me that we were shocking people,” the actor shared with TVLine last week, as his Joss Whedon-penned/directed film Much Ado About Nothing began hitting theaters. “It’s not a shock for me.”

Meh...Kate was about ten seconds away from dumping Castle for a job. It was SO obvious. Right now my problem is with her.
ReplyDeleteThen you should watch it again because after the interrogation scene and the way she looks at him when she arrives at the swings, it was so obvious that she decided to stay in New York at the precinct and with him, that she choosed him.
ReplyDeleteI worry there will be a time jump in the first episode, or I guess they will have to give Stana extensions. I just want the first episode at least, to be in the same time frame.
ReplyDeleteWhen she sat down beside him, that wasn't the look of a woman who had just decided to stay. That was the look of a woman who was positive she was about to hurt someone she deeply cares about.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I was concerned most about the finale is the final scene. The looks on both Rick and Kate during the proposal scene...Rick looked miserable proposing to her like he was reluctant to do it, and Kate didn't looked thrilled or happy. Am I imagining all of this? I'm still confused about that scene and how I feel about the next step of Caskett. Maybe it's because they're both nervous?? I don't know.
ReplyDeleteI think it was the look of a woman who knew that she f*** up by not telling him about the job interview and that was sorry and thinking that he was going to break up with her. Castle was looking mighty serious when she arrived.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. She said it was her home.
ReplyDeleteHe looked very serious, which could be interpreted as being miserable, pissed or just serious because he was about to take a major step in his life. In hindsight I think it was the latter, but at first I thought he was pissed. Beckett looked sad and ashamed IMO, knowing that she should have told Castle about the interview and when he proposed she just looked shocked because she thought that he was breaking up with her when he said that she keeps secrets, thats who she is.
ReplyDeletewow! so Kate really did choose DC! that's gonna destroy Castle if he finds out the truth and probably thinks he made a fool of himself by proposing.
