Mia Maestro, who taught us glass tables are dangerous in Alias, will co-star alongside Corey Stoll in The Strain, the very exciting fantasy/horror thriller from Guillermo del Toro in development at FX. The pilot, filming this September in Toronto, has an extremely high chance to lead to an extra 12-episode pickup.
The Strain tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll), the head of the CDC Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism.
Mia Maestro will play Dr. Nora Martinez, who works so closely with Ephraim, they finish each other's sentences and stumble into an affair. A brilliant biochemist, Martinez cares more about people than the diseases that threaten them, but she will soon be forced to embrace a new identity as a ruthless warrior.

ReplyDeleteIts going to be great having Mia back on the screen,i loved her in Alias!
ReplyDeleteBig surprise you would say that as you apparently hate every show that exists.
ReplyDeleteLoved Mia in Alias (which now I miss) and I'm glad she's in this. :)
ReplyDeleteNot even close lol
ReplyDeleteTruth be told you have been saying that a lot lately.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't pleased with the casting choice of Cory Stoll but I like Mia Maestro so I'm back to "somewhat interested" status for The Strain.
ReplyDeleteLiterally every comment I've seen you post on this site has been critical so I'm guessing your positive comments are for shows I don't read spoilers on...but I usually open every page during the day at work when I'm bored. And every time I see a comment by you ... "I HATE THIS" "THIS SHOW IS SO STUPID" etc. :)
ReplyDeleteJust with FX or cancelled shows.
ReplyDelete"Truth Be Told"..I see what you did there. (Mia Maestro, "Alias", Truth be Told)
ReplyDeleteOr ones that you wanted cancelled, and others that you didn't want to get picked up for next season...You have been on a roll lately. :)
