Suits - Season 3 - Latest from ETOnline

Thanks to Meg from dietpunkfics for the heads up.

With a title like War, you knew the Suits season two finale was going to mean season three would be largely dedicated to picking up the pieces -- and while that is true across the board, according to all of the actors, nowhere is the decimation more evident than in Harvey's relationship with Mike.

"Their loyalty has been completely destroyed," Gabriel Macht told me at USA's Upfront event in NYC. "And in the first episode, Harvey lets Mike go. He's done with him. Yes, Mike asks for forgiveness but Harvey doesn't want any of it. He doesn't want the drama, he doesn't want to trust in him anymore."

And if you think that will be resolved in a single episode, then you don't know Suits! "There's actually an episode where Louis asks for Mike and Harvey lets that courtship begin," Gabriel reveals! "Harvey gives him away. It's big. It's huge." Patrick J. Adams concurs: "It's a big deal that this trust has been broken, so Mike spends a lot of time in the first few episodes trying to figure out how to say he's sorry -- but, at the same time, he no longer wants to be the puppy dog he was for the first two years. He's trying to embrace the man he's become, so he needs to figure out how to say sorry and become a team again while still being a man."

  3. hahaha I was thinking the same thing... It was kind of a big deal, and I have totally forgot about it. Maybe he sided (against his will) with Jessica on something important? I don't know, I'll probably have to watch it again, or maybe someone here can help.

  4. I remember him threatening Scotty for Jessica at some point when Harvey had said no too. And he also made Mike promise he wouldnt tell anyone about him not going to Harvard although he really wanted to tell Rachel, and I'm sure Harvey said he'd fire him if he did it, which Mike did right at the end (so Harvey technically shouldn't know, yet)
Besides that, I cant really remember either LOL definitely need a re-watch before July :)

  5. The thing with Harvey and Mike is, with this huge secret between them, trust IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THEY HAVE WITH EACH OTHER. With that trust, as we see from S1-S3, it makes them the most efficient and ruthless senior partner/associate duo of the firm. Their relationship was built on trust and staying by each other's side. But with Mike not following Harvey's orders and weilding to Jessica'a command by the end of War(S2E16), that was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. Because this was not the first time trust was an issue between them. Little cracks in their relationship started early in Season 1. But none of those compared to this one. The firm was facing the biggest risk it's ever encountered. All of their jobs were on the line. Harvey, with his ego and slight impatience, wanted his name on the door and ruthlessly attacked anyone who comes in between him and that ambition. Mike follows him blindlessly because he trusts him implicitly. But he starts to notice Harvey crossing the line that he would never have dared when they first met. That's what destroyed their relationship, Mike doing what he feels is right and saving them their jobs. But Harvey, with his rage and hurt ego, turns away Mike. Even fires him, but Jessica quickly reinstates his position. And now we see Jessica is right, Harvey may be the best closer in town, but he is not ready to be Managing Partner.

  6. So harvey isnt going to trust mike yet rachel is WTH. Mike has everything rachel ever wanted & he told her he hadnt earned a single dime of it yet she is still going to trust him. I thought the suits writers were better than this.

  8. So basically you want Rachel to resent him b/c he has what she wants even though not only she wasnt involved in/or was affected by the process at all Mike doesn't really have any fault in being pushed into acceting the job? Oooohkay makes a lot of sense.

  10. Youve just found out your co worker doesnt infact have a law degree etc yet is working as a lawyer of course there would/should be resentment.

Also he has essentially lied to her so how can she trust a guy fully that has done that which this post seems to indicate will be case explain how that doesnt make sense
