    Whatever about Jalivia, Mellie needs to take a stand. Whether she was a good wife or not, it's not fair to expect her to stay in a loveless marriage and treat her as if she's just another political tool to avail of where necessary.

    Amanda was just some intern & his husband is just a journalist. Neither of them are one of the most high-profile people on the planet. I think people might notice if the First Lady vanished into thin air.

    He was expecting her to stay though. All through the episode, he was talking about calling her bluff and saying she was a child, acting like her complaints and actions were unreasonable. He was ready to kick her to the curb but he wanted her to stay there and watch.
