The producers of the NBC drama “Revolution” have informed their crew that the show, which filmed its first season in and around Wilmington, will not return to the Port City for its second season.
The show’s creator, Eric Kripke, said in an email to the crew that the show will move production to Austin, Texas, said Johnny Griffin, director of the Wilmington Regional Film Commission.
In the email, he thanked the crew for its hard work but did not give a reason for the show’s departure.
“Every week, we gave you the impossible, and yet you always executed beautifully,” the email reads. “Unfortunately, we’ll be moving the show to Austin, TX, for Season 2.This is not a decision that was made easily or taken lightly. We agonized over it. And we really regret losing such a terrific crew. Seriously.”

Ooh, will season two take place in Texas then? They keep mentioning it all the time and it seems pretty important.

ReplyDeleteI think it might!!--but I also think that they keep mentioning it to also hint at Nora's death, since she's the character who had a direct association with it prior to the black out.

As for the show actually changing locations, I have to wonder if it's cheaper to produce there, or if it's also intentional in order to change the scenery, since it would appear that season one's finale will game change the state of the reality in some way????

ReplyDeleteI believe it maybe cheaper bc sometimes the cities update their tax incentive program and caused alot of the shows to move else where, take Fringe and Body of Proof. Season one of Fringe was filmed in new york but season 2-5 was moved to Vancouver bc it turned out it's expensive to film in new york city but not its not lol as for Body of Proof season 1 was filmed in Rhode Island but season 2 and 3 moved to Los Angeles bc it's cheaper to film there
Most probably a combo of both.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was story-related but my guess is that there isn't much difference in the cost . They wouldn't be able to make the move if Texas was a lot more expensive.

Yea! Glad they're coming here! Our news said they'd be filming in July. I hope they're here already cause arriving in Texas in July is NOT a good idea if they're going to be outside a lot
