May 31, 2013

I’ve learned that British actress Ashley Madekwe will not return to the soapy ABC drama next season. Her option was not picked up due to what I hear were storyline reasons.

  2. I wish they would at least conclude her storyline in a satisfying, guess it might rather be an off-screen departure and Ashley will never learn who saved her from prostitution.

  3. ABC does it again... not caring about the characters on their shows, almost like they think people are watching soap operas for some different reasons.

  4. I finally thought she had a purpose when she starting helping Jack, but oh well. I hope they do bring her back for several episodes to close her storyline.

  5. Well, I never cared about Ashley, she didn't have that much importance either, so this might actually help to restore the focus

  6. In the first half of the first season, I liked her but when she rang the bell on Emily and Jack's kiss to Daniel. she lost my interest. A real social-climber-gold-digger.

  7. OK so let me get this straight, they're ditching Ashley(a character that still has some semblance of potential) but keeping Charlotte.......... FTS!!!! Still, at least Declan's gone. That's a start.

  8. I'm not unhappy about this. I didn't hate the character, but she was mostly dead weight. The show needs to tighten the cast a plot a little ... ok, a lot.

  9. Kind of abrupt to have the character leave the show without an explanation, but I won't miss her at all. They kept describing her as a "social climber" but I didn't see any climbing whatsoever. Instead, she constantly strutted around like she was some kind of HBIC, when all she actually did was plan parties, kiss up to her rich bosses and sleep with both father and son (which: EW). I don't think there was one smart or badass thing she did throughout those 2 seasons. On top of everything, I found the actress to be pretty weak.

  10. Ehh, I'm not that shocked. She was mostly faded away in the background for most of the season. But it would have been cool if she learned about Emily's secret. Oh well.

  11. I like the actress but ever since the Tyler and then Daniel incidents, it was just like, yeah, that character can go away now... I'm sure we'll see her again in something soon probably on ABC, probably on Scandal, is where bet my money
