    Is this meant to be ironic? Or is it really supposed to be hard-hitting drama centred around Mary Queen of Scots? Because this script is hilarious and I think it's not supposed to be.

    It's for the CW. It's not going to be completely historically accurate and they have to make it relateable to their target audience - teenagers. They have to keep a certain balance to it.
