CBS topped this second Sunday in May, which featured granddaddy “60 Minutes” and the season-finale of “Survivor: Caramoan.” “Survivor: Caramoan,” which was a clean sweep for suddenly cool Cochran, scored a 6.0 rating/10 share in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., which was right on par with one year earlier. The live reunion show at 10 p.m., which only featured the jury members on stage, followed with a dominant 4.9/ 9 at 10 p.m. Earlier in the evening, aforementioned “60 Minutes” led the night in the overnights, with a 7.6/15 at 7 p.m. But it certainly won’t finish No. 1 for the evening among adults 18-49 (or any other young adult demos).
As for “Survivor,” never in the history of this must-see reality competition (in this fan’s opinion) has a contestant, Dawn, gone from hero to villain so quickly. Maybe Kleenix could use a new spokesperson.
In other season-finale news, sophomore “Once Upon a Time” on ABC dipped by 30 percent year-to-year, with a second-place 4.5/ 8 in the overnights at 8 p.m. That led into two-hours of the also sophomore “Revenge” season-ender, with a diluted 4.3/ 7 from 9-11 p.m. Moving to Sunday did not benefit “Revenge” this season, and both “Once Upon a Time” and “Revenge” has been officially renewed.
Earlier in the evening on ABC was veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at a second-place 3.6/ 7 at 7 p.m.
Elsewhere, individual program results for NBC are estimated due to golf bleeding into primetime by 15 minutes. That said, two repeat hours of “The Voice” averaged an approximate 2.3/ 4 from 7:15-9:15 p.m., followed by two-hours of “Celebrity Apprentice” at a 3.3/ 5. According to a tweet by Donald Trump, “Celebrity Apprentice” has been renewed for next season.
Fox populated the night with a one-hour installment of “The Cleveland Show” (#4: 1.2/ 2 from 7-8 p.m.), which is not returning next season, “The Simpsons” (#4: 2.5/ 4), the season-finale of “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 2.1/ 4), “Family Guy” (#4: 3.1/ 5) and the season-finale of “American Dad” (#4: 2.6/ 4).

About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) we post the TV Ratings for the previous night.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the
Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below)

Dreadful numbers for OUaT,although the same can be said for the entire season.
ReplyDeleteSo both Once Upon a Time and Revenge were down from last week even though both had amazing season finales. I'm guessing about 2.1 for 18-49s for Once and 1.7 for Revenge?
ReplyDeleteRevenge definitely broke a 2. I don't remember it having a 4.3 HH rating in quite some time. Once Upon a Time likely at 2.2-2.3.

ReplyDeleteRevenge needs to move to another timeslot. I'm guessing Thursdays line up will be Grey's at 8, Sacadal at 9 and Revenge at 10
Once Upon a Time is up slightly in total viewers verses last week. Last week it got a 4.2/7 in the HH ratings and a 4.5/8 this week. A 2.2 in the demo, so I am hoping for at least a 2.4, or even a 2.5, but I am probably jumping the gun there.

ReplyDeleteI don't think I have been this angry with a rating as I am with Revenge right now. The episode was mind blowing, completely awesome, incredible... And it is down from last week? A 1.6, really? That is terrible... ABC, enough of this non sense, move it to a weekday again.
ReplyDeleteI hope they do, I do not care if it's back to Wednesday, Thursdays at 10 after Scadal (while moving Grey's to 8) or Tuesdays, but it CAN'T stay on Sundays, this season has rated awfully compared to last season.

ReplyDeleteOh dear for Revenge. while I think this season has been awful, I was definitely expecting the final to rise. ABC need to move it!
ReplyDeleteWow, a 2.2 for a OUAT season finale. Just a few weeks ago this was a series low. It hurts, like most of this season did. But then again, even though I loved the episode, it really didn't feel like it was a season finale.

ReplyDeleteI agree that the episode didn't feel like a finale. It did however set up a brilliant season 3 if handled properly. Revenge on the other hand was finale from beginning to the end
ReplyDeleteNew season, new game. I'm glad that we get a third season and I guess a fourth season isn't unrealistic yet. OUAT has a lot of fans. When a fourth season will be unsure there is a base to invoke - an advertising relevant base.
ReplyDeleteI think Shield against football and the walking dead is asking for the show not to succeed. I seriously hope ABC doesn't do this! The way to go is to air The Bachelor on Sundays, Shield, The Returned and Castle on Mondays and Comedies, OUAT and Revenge on Tuesdays! That would be a great schedule IMO!

ReplyDeleteTo be fair, the same can be said for the entire second half of the season. The first half of the season was among the highest rated scripted hours of the year on broadcasts

Still better than its current timeslot
ReplyDeleteRevenge was 4.5 in HH last week so it would have been down from the 1.8 it got in 18-49s. I wish it did get over a 2.0 because it deserved it but I guess the ratings collapse against the award shows in January/February really left a long-term bruise on the show's ratings.
